A flexible package formed from a film of polymer packaging material having a first and second panels sealed at a top portion and a bottom portion, an elongate slit in the first panel, and an elongate strip of pressure-sensitive-adhesion, re-closing tape (“PSA tape strip”) applied to the surface of said first panel over the slit. The PSA tape strip has an adhesive edge portion abridging and releasably sealing the slit and a non-adhesive edge portion arranged on one side of said slit and lying against the first panel. The PSA tape strip is adapted so that the slit can be unsealed by gripping the non-adhesive edge portion and pulling the PSA tape strip away from the first panel until the adhesive edge portion no longer abridges the slit. The PSA tape strip comprises a base material of polymer film that is compatibly recyclable with said packaging material The PSA tape strip also resists curling when it is strained by pulling it away from said first panel to unseal the slit. Preferably, the PSA tape has secant modulus ratio (machine direction to cross direction) greater than 90%.

The sheet is a laminate of a first web and a second web laminated together by an adhesive layer disposed between the webs. The sheet defines a plurality of serially connected side wall panels collectively defining a vertically extending side wall of the bag, and a plurality of bottom panels respectively connected to the side wall panels at respective fold lines. The bottom panels are folded about the fold lines and are attached together to form a flat bottom wall configured to support the bag in an upright orientation. The adhesive layer is in a partial-coverage pattern that includes adhesive-free regions located along each fold line between each bottom panel and the respective side wall panel connected therewith.

According to the first variant, in the container, the front and the back walls of the container are made of paper with a density from 18 g/m.sup.2 to 90 g/m.sup.2 with a laminating layer with a density from 10 g/m.sup.2 to 40 g/m.sup.2. According to the second variant, in the container, the front and the back walls of the container are made of a polymer film with a thickness from 12 microns to 80 microns. The invention is aimed at the creation of a container, while opening which with one hand a uniform and more accurate extraction of a granular product from the dispensing outlet of the product, located in the bottom part of the container, is ensured.

The bag further includes first and second overlapping tear seams separating and connecting the first and second portions of the first and second bag walls, respectively and located adjacent the second reclosure mechanism between the reclosure mechanisms to allow the first portions of the first and second walls to be completely severed from the second portions of the first and second walls along a prescribed tear pattern delineated by the tear seams.
