The septal portions are further configured to grip the extractor to facilitate lid removal.

CONTAINER WITH LOCKING LID

In one example, a lid configured for use with a container includes an upper surface that is generally circular in shape, and further includes a side wall with an annular configuration, the side wall intersecting the upper surface to define an edge of the lid. A grip element is defined in the upper surface and sized and configured to be grasped by one or more fingers of a user, and the grip element includes a grip portion that is set back a distance from the edge of the lid. Finally, a tab is provided that is attached to the side wall of the lid by an elastically deformable standoff element.

Lid featuring ease of use and improved release from a tray or container

A lid and tray assembly includes at least two lift tabs and/or indentations at separated but not directly opposing locations about the lid periphery that can be actuated simultaneously or sequentially to provide two distinct locations from which initial disengagements can extend and merge to enable easy removal of the entire lid. Embodiments further include locations that can be pressed while corresponding tabs are lifted. Some embodiments include a peripheral skirt that is short enough to allow a user's fingers to pass beneath and support the tray sidewalls when lifting the tray-lid assembly from a horizontal surface, avoiding any need for the lid engagement to bear the weight of the tray and its contents. Lid-tray engagement can be by means of inserting a lid peripheral rim into a tray lip groove, or by engaging a lid rim undercut with a tray lip undercut.

A closure, for rotatably coupling with a container to cover an opening of the container, includes a lid and a lever. The lid includes a primary panel defining a top surface, a skirt configured to couple with the container, and a stop positioned adjacent the top surface of the primary panel. The lid defines an outermost perimeter, and a footprint of the lid is defined within the outermost perimeter. The lever is rotably coupled with the lid to rotate relative to the lid between a use position and a storage position. When the lever is in the storage position, the lever is maintained substantially within the footprint of the lid. When the lever is in the use position, the lever extends outwardly beyond the outermost perimeter of the lid contacting the stop of the lid such that force applied to lever is transferred to the lid via the stop.

A lid assembly is provided comprising a lid main body and a lid valve subassembly removably attachable to the lid main body. The lid main body includes an upper portion having a drinking aperture and a first attachment element positioned below the upper portion in a lid cavity. The lid valve subassembly includes a subassembly main body, a sealing member, and an attachment collar rotatably attached to the subassembly main body. The attachment collar may be rotatable about an axis of rotation relative to the subassembly main body to selectively transition the lid assembly between an integrated configuration with the lid valve subassembly secured to the lid main body and a cleaning configuration with the lid valve subassembly separated from the lid main body. A second attachment element on the lid valve subassembly may engage with the first attachment element to releasable secure the lid assembly in the integrated configuration.
