Cable or utility tie
A cable tie includes a strip of material having a pair of longitudinally extending sides spaced from each other by a width W. In one form the strip includes a plurality of additional openings that are configured to receive the shank of a fastener. In one form, a plurality of first and second size openings are formed in the strip and spaced from each other along the longitudinal axis. Each of the first size openings have a first length LF parallel to the longitudinal axis and are located in a corresponding one of a first set of wide portions. Each of the second size openings are spaced from each other along the longitudinal axis so that one or more of the second size openings are located between pairs of the first size openings, with each of the second size openings located in a corresponding one of a second set of wide portions and having a length LS parallel to the longitudinal axis that is less than LF In one form, the strip includes a first plurality of notch pairs spaced from each other by a first distance D1, a second plurality of the notch pairs is spaced from each other by a second distance D2 that is less than the distance D1, and a plurality of elongate openings, with each opening located in the strip between two adjacent notch pairs that are spaced by the first distance D1.
CABLE TIE
A cable tie comprises a strap has a lock at a first end and a second end configured to be threaded through the lock such that teeth on the strap are engaged by the lock. The strap has a first portion extending from the lock and a second portion joined to the first portion by a pre-formed curve in the strap. The second portion extends from the curve to the second end, with at least a distal section of the second portion adjacent the second end being angled away from the first portion at an acute angle. When measured parallel to the longitudinal axis of the first portion there is a first distance between the curve's turning point and the first end of the strap and a second distance between the curve's turning point and the second end of the strap. The first distance is at least 5 times greater than the second distance.
Memory fastening device
A memory fastening device includes a fastener head that is positioned along the first end of an elongated body having a tapered second end, and a plurality of serrations. The head includes an opening having a shape that is complementary to the shape of the main body. A ratchet mechanism is positioned within the head and functions to engage the serrations to form a closed loop. The main body includes a layered construction having a core layer and an outer layer. The core layer is constructed from a piece of malleable metal having shape memory for maintaining a shape to which the device is manipulated, and the outer layer is constructed from an electrically non-conductive material that encapsulates the metallic memory core.
Fasteners
A fastener (1) has an elongate fastening band (2) and a buckle (10) for engagement with the band (2) to form a closed loop fastener. The buckle (10) is overmoulded on a first end region (8) of the fastening band (2). Such a design provides a fastener that has higher strength and is more compact than previously-considered designs.
Tether
A tether for connecting two different objects together has first and second elongate and flexible end portions having proximal and distal ends, and an elongate and flexible intermediate portion. The intermediate portion is releasably connectable with the first and second end portions, by the intermediate portion having connectors at either end and the first and second end portions having connectors at respective proximal ends to form first and second safety breakaways. The connections of the first and second safety breakaways, are made in-line with the general lengthwise axis of the tether. The first and second end portions are arranged for connection to a respective object. The safety breakaways between the intermediate portion and the first and second end portions are releasable at a predetermined release load.

Cable tie
A cable tie is provided, including: a locking head and a strap body. The locking head includes a plurality of first engaging teeth. The strap body is connected with the locking head. The strap body includes a first surface, a second surface and two lateral sides respectively connected between the first and second surfaces. The first surface includes a plurality of second engaging teeth and two protruding edges. The plurality of second engaging teeth are engageable with the plurality of first engaging teeth. The two protruding edges are disposed on two opposite sides of the plurality of second engaging teeth. A plurality of notched portions are disposed on the two lateral sides and interrupt the two protruding edges. Based on the first surface, a height of each of the two protruding edges is greater than a height of each of the plurality of second engaging teeth.
Bi-Directional Buttonhead Ties
This document describes techniques and apparatuses, which include improved bi-directional buttonhead ties, techniques for manufacturing bi-directional buttonhead ties, and techniques for using bi-directional buttonhead ties. In aspects, a bi-directional buttonhead tie is configured for securing an elongated member to a support structure and includes a tie strap and a locking head. The tie strap includes a first side and a second side. The locking head includes an outer side opposite a panel side, the tie strap extending from the panel side of the locking head, the locking head further including a first slot extending through the locking head from the outer side to the panel side, the first slot configured to receive a portion of the tie strap therethrough, and a second slot extending through the locking head from the outer side to the panel side, the second slot configured to receive a portion of the tie strap therethrough.
BIODEGRADABLE FASTENER
A fastener includes an elongate body defined by a first end, a second end, a first side portion, and a second side portion. The elongate body includes a plurality of discrete slits along at least the first side portion, and the plurality of slits extend at least partially into the elongate body of the fastener. The elongate body of the fastener includes a biodegradable material.
Systems And Methods For Securing Cords
