CUSTOM TOOTH CLAMP

Provided herein are tooth clamping systems, methods, and kits for performing a dental procedure with a dental cutting machine guided by three-dimensional data associated with an impression of one or more teeth of a patient.

Dental restoration molds

In some examples, a tool for forming a dental restoration comprises a preformed mold body configured to provide a patient-specific, customized fit with at least one tooth to be restored of a patient. The mold body is configured to align with a portion of a surface of the at least one tooth, and is configured to combine with the at least one tooth to define a mold cavity encompassing at least a portion of desired tooth structure of the at least one tooth to be restored of the patient. The portion of desired tooth structure defines a transition from a supragingival surface of the at least one tooth to a subgingival surface of the at least one tooth.

In one embodiment, an aspiration prevention system is configured to keep items from moving from a mouth of a patient into a throat of the patient. The system includes a mouth prop, a frame, and an air-permeable barrier. The mouth prop has a top surface configured to abut top teeth of the mouth, a bottom surface configured to abut bottom teeth of the mouth, and a frame coupling feature. The frame has a barrier retention feature configured to retain an air-permeable barrier, and a prop coupling feature that is attachable to the frame coupling feature of the mouth prop in a position in which the frame at least partially covers the throat.

AUTOMATED CREATION OF TOOTH RESTORATION DENTAL APPLIANCES

Techniques are described for automating the design and manufacture a dental restoration appliance for restoring the dental anatomy of a patient. For example, a system processes a digital three-dimensional (3D) model of a future (desired) dental anatomy of a patient, the future dental anatomy representing an intended shape of at least one tooth of the patient. The system includes a landmark identifier configured to automatically compute, based on the digital 3D model of the future dental anatomy of the patient, one or more landmarks of the future dental anatomy of the patient. The system also includes a custom feature generator configured to automatically generate, based on the one or more landmarks, one or more custom appliance features for a dental appliance for restoring the at least one tooth of the patient. The system further includes a memory device configured to store a digital model of the dental appliance.

Fixed space regainer

The fixed space regainer is a resin band designed to regain space in the gap between the remaining teeth when a tooth is lost. The band has opposing concave ends that provide bonding surfaces or anchors that attach to the remaining teeth on opposite sides proximal to the gap and an elongate connecting band between the bonding surfaces. The regainer is made from a biocompatible elastic material so that the connecting band will arch when installed across the gap and exert resilient pressure against the remaining teeth proximal to the gap to regain the space lost by narrowing that occurs by loss of the tooth, thereby providing proper spacing for growth of a permanent tooth or installation of a cosmetic replacement. The regainer may be designed by the dentist in software from a digital impression and made by 3D printing or additive manufacturing.

A system for performing a dental procedure includes a hand piece having a robot arm that extends along a first axis, and a medical tool coupled with a distal end of the robot arm. The system includes a first gimbal coupled with the robot arm for rotating the robot arm and the medical tool about the first axis, a second gimbal coupled with the robot arm for tilting the medical tool up and down relative to the first axis, and a third gimbal coupled with the robot arm for moving the medical tool up and down along a second axis that is perpendicular to the first axis. The hand piece includes a turret that supports the robot arm and rotates within a plane that is perpendicular to the second axis. The system has a first motor coupled with the first shaft for extending and retracting the first shaft along the first axis, a second motor coupled with the first shaft for rotating the first shaft around the first axis, a third motor coupled with the panning linkage for moving he first shaft to the left and the right within the plane that is perpendicular to the second axis, a fourth motor coupled with the second shaft for extending and retracting the second shaft along the first axis, and a fifth motor coupled with the third shaft for extending and retracting the third shaft along the first axis.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DENTAL CLAMPING

An apparatus and method for automated dental treatment having a tooth clamp (48, 700) which connects an automated dental drill (10). The tooth clamp (700) has a rigid frame (704A, 704B) with a coupling point (703) for reversibly coupling the tooth clamp (700) to an automated dental drill (10) and a pair of jaws (701A, 701B) for coupling the clamp to a tooth of a user.
