A microprocessor-controlled tamper evident wrapping system detects tampering and records data related to a tampering event. Upon sealing an object or material within a layered composite material comprising alternating nonconducting and conducting layers, one or more microprocessors electrically coupled to conducting layers of the composite material arm the system and initiates a clock function. If the package is punctured, cut, or otherwise damaged, that event is detected and recorded by the microprocessor(s) and a reset function is activated for the next potential event. The system may be interrogated by a user to view and download a tampering event log, which may provide time, date, location, and/or other parameters associated with tampering events.

A tamper evident container includes a cover comprising a first interlocking flange with a first inner tab and a first outer tab separated by a first severable line and a base comprising a second interlocking flange with a second inner tab and a second outer tab separated by second severable line, where the first and second interlocking flanges are configured to be fastened together and the container is configured to be opened by separating the first and second inner tabs from the respective first and second outer tabs while one of the first and second outer tabs remains attached to the container and another of the first and second outer tabs is separated from the container and remains attached to the one of the first and second outer tabs.

Carton with tamper-evident feature

A tamper-evident structure for securing a lid to a container of a carton for holding a food product includes a plurality of panels having a top panel and at least one side panel, and at least one panel of the plurality of panels is for being attached to at least one of the lid and the container of the carton. At least one indicating feature provides indication that the lid has been at least partially removed from the container.

EASY-OPEN AND TRANSPORTABLE CARTONS

Cartons or boxes (10, 40, 70, 90, 110, 130, 290, 330, 390) convertible between a closed, transport configuration and an open configuration permitting access to the carton contents are disclosed herein. The cartons (10, 40, 70, 90, 110, 130, 290, 330, 390) may provide the consumer or user an easy manner of transporting, opening, displaying, retaining, and/or protecting multiple individually wrapped packages or servings of product. In addition to graphics, these multipack cartons may include a handle (12), opening features (26, 28, 46, 96, 116, 138, 338), a changeable or alterable shape or configuration, and fasteners (118), among other features.

A container includes a base defining a perimeter opening and a top surface within the perimeter opening. The top surface includes a plurality of discrete openings defining respective compartments extending downwardly from the top surface of the base. A first reclosable lid covers the perimeter opening when the container is closed to resist transfer of solid matter between the compartments of the base. An additional reclosable lid encloses one of the compartments to resist liquid from exiting the compartment when the compartment is closed.

A container includes first and second shells sealingly engageable with each other. Each shell includes a rim, where the rim of each shell includes a rim bead having an inner wall and an outer wall. The inner wall and the outer wall of the rim bead of the second shell frictionally engage the inner wall and the outer wall, respectively, of the rim bead of the first shell to sealingly engage the rims. The container also includes hinge panels each extending outwardly from one of the rims of the first and second shells. The hinge panels are hingedly connected to each another along a hinge line to form a foldable section that includes the hinge panels and the hinge line. The foldable section has a frangible line formed on each of the hinge panels, where the frangible line extends transversely between the hinge panels and transects the hinge line.

Tamper resistant assembly for securing valuable material

The invention provides a tamper resistant assembly that that securely contains a valuable material. The assembly has a container for holding the valuable material, an optional carrier that contains the container, one or more cover components that enclose the valuable material in the container, and one or more labels having a plurality of devices that reveal tampering by distortion of at least one of the plurality of devices. The label(s) are positioned so that dislodging a cover component causes a detectable distortion in at least one of the plurality of devices, thereby revealing tampering with the assembly. In one embodiment the label can be affixed partially to a surface of a cover component and partially to a surface of the container or the optional carrier. Also disclosed are methods of detecting tampering and method of manufacturing a temper-resistant assembly. Because the assembly allows a remote validator to validate the assembly prior to providing essential instructions or authorization for conducting procedures on valuable material contained by the assembly, the manufacturer is assured that its procedures are being provided only to authorized persons.
