For example, the user squeezes opposite sides of the container base, which releases a locking mechanism and allows for removal of the cap by lifting or pulling the container cap off from the container base. The components of the modular container system are modular and stackable. The modular system allow for organized, efficient, accessible and storage of the child-resistant containers. The modular container system also allows for easy counting, sorting and processing of the containers.

A seal that forms part of a container for storing and dispensing consumer products is provided. The container can be used for the packaging of pills, tablets or capsules, or as a multi-cavity container for organizing and storing mixed medication for subsequent dispensation according to a predefined dosage regimen. The seal includes a cover film and a barrier film. The cover film has pre-formed lines of separation defining a removable portion per cavity. The barrier film is secured to the cover film by a layer of peelable adhesive and has pre-formed lines of separation defining the periphery of a barrier patch per removable portion. By this engagement, mutual movement of the first and second portions is restricted, so that a rigid structure is produced. A multi-layer product such as a seal for use with a container for storing and dispensing consumer products is described. The seal includes a first layer having pre-formed lines of separation defining one or more first portions and a second layer having pre-formed lines of separation defining one or more second portions. An adhesive layer is provided between the first and second layers. A release layer is provided between the second layer and the adhesive layer. At least part of each first portion is fixedly secured to a respective one of the one or more second portions at one or more securing locations, e.g., by ultrasonic welding or by an area of the release layer that is absent, modified or coated so that each second portion is directly adhered to the adhesive layer or by means of the interposing release layer.

The federally controlled substance containers include a two-piece child resistant and senior friendly lid and a 2-factor authentication identification tag, as well as a microchip for identifying the container controlled substance contents and tracking the container. Controlled substance contents within the containers are optimized for long term storage by removal of the oxygen therein, and the containers and controlled substance contents can be readily identified, detected, tracked and traced after being filled with a federally controlled substance.
