Waste Disposal System and Method for Detecting Impurities in Waste Containers
A waste disposal system for contaminant detection in waste containers, includes a disposal vehicle having a waste collection room, an emptying device, adapted to receive a waste container in a receiving position and move it to an emptying position in which the contents of the waste container are emptied into the waste collection room, and a camera system, adapted to detect the contents of the waste container, and including a first camera to record at least one image of the contents of the waste container prior to emptying in a top view and a second camera for recording a sequence of images of the contents of the waste container during the emptying, and a a data processing unit for analysis of images of the first camera and/or the second camera, the analysis involving classification of the images in terms of identified contents by means of a neural network.

Carry can for refuse vehicle
A carry can includes a container defining a refuse compartment and an articulating collection arm coupled to the container. The articulating collection arm includes an extension mechanism, a lift mechanism coupled to the extendable arm, and a grabber mechanism coupled to the lift arm. The extension mechanism includes an extendable arm and a first actuator positioned to facilitate extending and retracting the extendable arm. The lift mechanism includes a lift arm and a second actuator positioned to facilitate pivoting the lift arm about a pivot axis. The second actuator includes (i) a transmission device coupled to the lift arm and positioned along the pivot axis and (ii) a rotational actuator coupled to the transmission device and positioned along an offset axis that is parallel to and is offset from the pivot axis. The grabber mechanism includes grabber arms and a third actuator positioned to facilitate opening and closing the grabber arms.
Refuse vehicle with independently operational accessory system
A refuse vehicle includes multiple tractive elements, a prime mover, and an independent accessory system. The prime mover is configured to generate mechanical energy to drive one or more of the tractive elements. The independent accessory system includes one or more storage tanks configured to store a fuel, and an accessory primary mover. The accessory primary mover is configured to fluidly couple with the one or more storage tanks to receive the fuel from the one or more storage tanks and operate to pressurize a hydraulic fluid to drive an accessory of the refuse vehicle. The accessory primary mover is configured to pressurize the hydraulic fluid to drive the accessory of the refuse vehicle independently of operation of the prime mover.
REFUSE VEHICLE WITH ADVANCED DRIVER-ASSISTANCE SYSTEM
A refuse vehicle includes a chassis coupled a wheel, a motor configured to drive the wheel, a body assembly coupled to the chassis and defining a refuse compartment, a lift assembly, and a vehicle control system having a sensor integrated into the body assembly and a controller in communication with the lift assembly and the sensor. The controller includes a processor and at least one memory and is configured to receive sensor data from the sensor, the sensor data indicating a potential event, receive control data indicating a state the lift assembly, and compare the sensor data to the control data to determine if the potential event is a false event associated with the state of the lift assembly or an actual event.
BATTERY PLACEMENT FOR ELECTRIFIED VEHICLE
An electrified vehicle includes a chassis and a plurality of battery cells positioned along the chassis. The chassis includes a right frame member and a left frame member. Each of the right frame member and the left frame member has a vertical portion, a first end portion extending from a first end of the vertical portion, and a second end portion extending from an opposing second end of the vertical portion. The right frame member and the left frame member are configured to support a cab and a body. The right frame member and the left frame member extend lengthwise in a longitudinal direction. The plurality of battery cells are supported by at least one of the right frame member or the left frame member via couplings positioned along the vertical portion of the at least one of the right frame member or the left frame member.
VEHICLE WITH THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a cab coupled to the chassis, a body coupled to the chassis, the body including a refuse compartment configured to store refuse, a lift assembly configured to transfer refuse from a refuse container into the refuse compartment, a cowl coupled to at least one of the body or the cab and extending above the cab, and a heat exchanger positioned at least partially within the cowl such that the heat exchanger extends above the cab.

Refuse Vehicle Dump Verification System and Apparatus
A method and device for positively identifying that a dump event of a refuse container has occurred into a refuse hopper of a refuse vehicle are provided. When used with route software, alerts may be generated if a specific refuse container is missed or if an unexpected dump event occurs during the route.
