The lid is secured to the body portion and pivotable between a closed position over the mouth and an open position. The lid includes an upper lid portion and a lower lid portion. The upper lid portion extends downward to an outer lip. The lower lid portion extends downward to an inner lip. The inner lip is inward of the outer wall of the body portion when the lid is in the closed position. The outer lip is outward of the outer wall of the body when the lid is in the closed position.

The thermoplastic film comprises a plurality of raised rib-like elements extending in a direction perpendicular to a main surface of the thermoplastic film. The plurality of raised rib-like elements and plurality of web areas are arranged in a complex pattern. The complex pattern provides visual and tactile cues as the films are stretched or elongated. The complex pattern can cause the thermoplastic film to have a complex stretch profile.

An ultraviolet sterilizing waste container is disclosed which contains a housing, base, lid assembly, support structure for receiving flexible bag assemblies and at least one UV light source for sterilizing the inside of the container.

A method of sterilizing a waste container with ultraviolet (UV) light is disclosed which includes, inserting an article of waste into the waste container, sealing the container from an external environment to prevent UV light from shining out, activating a UV sanitizing routine stored in a UV light module having at least one UV light source and irradiating an interior surface of the diaper pail with the UV light.

The sensor assembly can include a plurality of transmitters having a first subset of transmitters and a second subset of transmitters. An electronic processor can generate an electronic signal to a power-operated drive mechanism for moving the lid portion from a closed position to an open position, such as in response to the sensor assembly detecting the object.

A discrete food waste disposal bag is a hand held waste receptacle that will hold and conceal waste. A disposable bag comprising: a body having an open end portion and a sealed end portion, an air release flap located on the body between the open end portion and the sealed end portion, wherein the air release flap allows air to exit the body of the disposable bag, a first opening located at the end of the open end portion, wherein a user blows air into the first opening, a tear line located on the body approximate to the open end portion, wherein the tear line is configured to expose a second opening, wherein the first opening is smaller than the second opening.

The present invention is directed to a thermoplastic bag comprised of a front panel and a back panel. The front panel and back panel are generally joined along a first side edge, a second side edge, and a bottom edge of the respective front panel and back panel. The front panel has a distal edge with the distal edge folded over the front panel to provide a hem and an overlap area immediately below the first hem. The overlap encapsulates a scent carrier that can provide a scent to the thermoplastic bag.
