The system further comprises a processing device to receive a plurality of images generated by the array of fixed focus cameras, stitch the plurality of images together based on calibration data specifying predetermined image stitching parameters for combining the plurality of images, wherein the predetermined image stitching parameters are based on predetermined fixed relative positions and orientations of fixed focus cameras from the array of fixed focus cameras, and generate a three-dimensional model of a plurality of teeth based on the stitched plurality of images.

ELECTRONIC IMPRESSION TRAY FOR OBTAINING DENTAL INFORMATION
20210045851 · 2021-02-18 ·

An electronic impression tray can be used to obtain three-dimensional and temporal measurements in dentistry. There is a device having optical measurement sensor system, and an electronic system including a central management unit capable of collecting, storing and ordering the data obtained by the sensor systems distributed over all or part of the impression tray. An optical impression of all or part of a dental arch can be obtained with a single or multiple impressions. The tray includes a part having the shape of all or part of a dental arch, and the part can change by virtue of its ability to deform and/or a structure formed by multiple elements that are hinged to one another and/or reversibly assembled and secured to one another, such as to provide the optimal shape.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROSTHODONTICS

The invention relates to a dental tray assembly for intraoral imaging of an edentulous dental arch and/or palate. The dental tray assembly includes a base surface and an opposing external surface. An anterior wall is connected to the base surface and extends arcuately either side of a central axis coinciding, in use, with the labial frenulum. A posterior edge connects opposing sides of the anterior wall. The base surface and the anterior wall together define a concave trough for at least partially surrounding an edentulous arch. A spaced-apart array of ultrasound imaging elements is attached to the dental tray within the trough for emitting and receiving ultrasound signals, the received ultrasound signals being representative of the surface topography and/or sub-surface structures of an edentulous dental arch and/or palate to be imaged. Advantageously, by distributing the array of ultrasound imaging elements across the surface area of dental tray the entire edentulous arch and/or palate can be imaged instantaneously. Optionally, received ultrasound signals can be communicated to a remote device, such as a smartphone, running a software App which processes signals to form a virtual digital impression of the dental arches enabling the manufacture of prosthetic dentures having enhanced comfort and stability.

USING IMMERSIVE PHOTOGRAPHS TO GUIDE PLACEMENT OF ORTHODONTIC BRACKETS, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF

In an embodiment, an input indicating a location selected by a health care professional on an image rendered with respect to a viewport mapped onto an immersive photographic model of a patient's mouth to indicate a position to place an orthodontic bracket on a patient's tooth is received. A ray is extended from a focal point of the viewport at a direction determined based on the input. An intersection of the ray in a three-dimensional space is determined. The intersection indicates a position to place the orthodontic bracket on the patient's tooth.

A method of making a maxillary tray appliance comprises obtaining a first virtual model of an edentulous maxillary gum of a patient, and obtaining a virtual component, where the virtual component comprises a virtual contacting surface. The method further comprises receiving the first virtual model, aligning the first virtual model or the virtual component in 3D space, generating a virtual tray appliance, and fabricating a maxillary tray appliance using the virtual tray appliance.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERSONALIZED ORAL CARE

Described herein are systems and methods for providing personalized oral care. A system for oral care comprises an oral insert. The oral insert is sized and shaped according to a user's oral cavity, and has a plurality of fluid nozzles and an effluence conduit to channel fluid out of the user's oral cavity. Pressurized fluid provided through the nozzles are directed to, for example, the interproximal spaces between the user's teeth. In some variations, a system comprises an oral insert and an elastomeric substrate that is attached to the oral insert. In some variations, the elastomeric substrate comprises a textured surface vibrates and/or mechanically agitates and/or translates along the surface of the user's teeth. In some variations, a system for oral care comprises a microbiome collection chamber. Some variations comprise dental shim devices that are used for acquiring oral structure data and alignment between the upper and lower arches.

Dental bite block device

A dental bite block device includes a front wall, a flat lateral sidewall, and a concave lateral sidewall that define a longitudinal channel that extends through the device. The lateral sidewalls are connected by a crossbar, and the channel can be filled with polyvinyl siloxane (PVS) dental impression putty. When the device is positioned in the patient's mouth, the flat lateral sidewall faces the right inner check of the patient, the patient's tongue rests against the concave lateral sidewall, and the patient's upper and lower teeth rest open on the front wall. Once the PVS putty sets, it forms a solid half cylinder-shaped member that includes impressions of a plurality of the patient's upper and lower teeth, which assist to maintain the device in place. The front wall and concave sidewall further include an opening that defines a clip for a saliva ejector.

PROCESS FOR FABRICATING A DIGITAL BITE OPENING APPLIANCE DURING ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

Embodiments may provide Bite Opening Devices (BODs) that are quicker and easier to place and provide improved accuracy. For example, a method may comprise using a computer system to perform: receiving data relating to teeth and jaws of a person, identifying a hinge axis of the jaw in three dimensional space using the data relating to teeth and jaws of a person, rotating the jaw to provide a desired clearance of the teeth, placing at least one Bite Opening Device on the teeth so as to provide the desired clearance of the teeth, and generating data defining a bonding tray to fit over the teeth, the bonding tray including a void corresponding to each Bite Opening Device, the generated data defining the bonding tray to be used for manufacturing the bonding tray using additive manufacturing.
