Housings, wherein each housing is configured to house a capsule for producing beverages, and wherein the housings comprise at least a first housing for holding a first capsule and a second housing for holding a second capsule, wherein the second capsule is different in size and/or shape from the first capsule. Seats are configured to receive one of the housings with each seat configured to receive either the first housing or the second housing. An extractor extracts the first housing from a seat in which it is received. An insertor inserts the second housing into the seat. A machine for preparing capsules for producing beverages in which such a transport system is implemented is also presented.

A container sorting system can receive a container on a conveyance surface and convey the container in a conveyance direction. A linear induction motor positioned relative to the conveyance surface (e.g., below) can generate a magnetic field that causes movement of a shoe coupled to the conveyance surface. The shoe can move relative to the conveyance surface and engage the container to change the movement direction of the container. The movement direction of the container can be changed to move the container off of the conveyance surface.

The connector block is provided using a first block body and a second block body each formed into a U-shaped metal plate. Each block body includes a base plate and side plates, and tabs formed at distal ends of side plates. Tabs are configured for interfitting placement in depressions formed in the base plate of the opposing block body. Side plates of the first block body and side plates of the second block body, are sized, shaped, and joined in secure interlocking engagement, and wherein the first tab receiving depressions each securely position therein a second tab bent for interfitting engagement therewith, and wherein the second tab receiving depressions each securely position therein a first tab bent for interfitting engagement therewith. All side plates further include holes defined by edge walls, for secure engagement with a pivot pin for connection with a first chain unit or a second chain unit.
