Sheet conveying device and image forming apparatus
A sheet conveying device includes a third pivoting guide member located between a first pivoting guide member on a side of fixed guide members and a second pivoting guide member on a side of an opening/closing member. In a state in which an upstream conveying path and a re-conveying path are formed, the first pivoting guide member pivots toward the third pivoting guide member to expand the upstream conveying path when pushed by a sheet conveyed from the upstream conveying path, and the third pivoting guide member pivots toward the first pivoting guide member to expand the re-conveying path when pushed by a sheet conveyed from the re-conveying path.

MEDIUM CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
The medium conveying device, comprises (1) a feeder configured to feed a print medium in a conveyance direction; (2) a stacker configured to stack the print medium fed by the feeder; (3) a first guide arranged in downstream side of the print medium in the conveyance direction, the first guide including a first guide surface configured to guide a downstream edge of the print medium stacked on the stacker; and (4) a second guide arranged to be movable with respect to the first guide, the second guide including a second guide surface configured to guide the downstream edge of the print medium stacked on the stacker, wherein the second guide configured to move with respect to the first guide such that the second guide surface protrudes with respect to the first guide surface in an upstream direction as the stacked amount of the print medium stacked on the stacker decreases.

Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus including: a sheet feeding tray configured to support a sheet; and an apparatus main body configured to support the sheet feeding tray so as to be moveable in a direction parallel with a sheet feeding direction, the apparatus main body including a chute configured to guide the sheet that is fed from the sheet feeding tray, wherein the sheet feeding tray includes a guiding member configured to be displaced between an engaging position at which the guiding member engages with the chute and restrains movement of the sheet feeding tray and a separation position at which the guiding member separates from the chute and permits movement of the sheet feeding tray, and wherein the guiding member is configured to guide the sheet that is fed from the sheet feeding tray toward the chute when the guiding member is located at the engaging position.

Sheet feeder, image reading apparatus, and image forming apparatus
A sheet feeder comprises a sheet stacking unit which stacks sheets, a sheet pickup unit which picks up a sheet from one side of the stacked sheets on the sheet stacking unit, a sheet separating and feeding unit which separately feeds sheets one by one to a conveyance path, an orientation holding unit which holds a feed orientation of a sheet, and a biasing unit which biases the orientation holding unit from a retracted position to a projecting position. A projection amount of the orientation holding unit from an inclined surface increases as the number of stacked sheets decreases, and the projection amount from the inclined surface decreases as the number of stacked sheets increases.

Medium feeding apparatus, image reading apparatus, and recording apparatus
A pair of edge guides provided on a medium mounting section of a medium feeding apparatus each include a volume limiter spaced from the mounting surface of the medium mounting section and extending from the guide surface of at least one of the pair of edge guides in a direction intersecting the guide surface, the volume limiter including a limiting surface that limits a number of sheets mounted on the medium mounting section. The limiting surface includes a groove extending in the feed direction, at a position between a corner portion formed at an intersection of an end portion of the limiting surface in the width direction and the guide surface, and the other end portion of the limiting surface, and configured to insert at least a part of a side edge of the medium, to thereby restrict the side edge from moving in the width direction.
