Rewinder for the production of paper logs adapted to guide and transversely pre-cut a paper web along a predetermined path, adapted to wind a predetermined amount of the paper web on a core in a winding station, and including a threading mechanism for threading the web along said path. The threading mechanism includes a dragging unit provided to engage the web to drag it along the path with a predetermined feed direction and at least one dragging member to engage a respective flap of the web preceding the production of the logs. The dragging unit is located downstream of the winding station and is adapted to release the flap of the web from the dragging member, the release means being arranged downstream of the dragging so as to intercept the flap of the web and disengage it from the dragging while the web is fed.

A method for operating a packaging machine including one or more of the method steps advancing a transport chain along a chain deflection pulley, wherein chain clips are arranged on the transport chain and moved during the advancing motion of the transport chain along a run-on contour, to open at least one of the chain clips; introducing a flat material blank into the at least one open chain clip using a feed device or by entraining the flat material blank using a connection to a second material blank preceding the flat material blank, wherein the material blank enters the open chain clip during an advancing motion of the transport chain; closing the chain clip by leaving the run-on contour, to grip and secure the material blank in the chain clip; and transporting the material blank to a work station using the transport chain.

Provided is a method for producing a sealed-edge pouch with a laminate composite stored therein. In some non-limiting embodiments or aspects the laminate composite is detached from a laminate composite web having a carrier film with substrates which are arranged thereon and are covered by means of a respective cover film. An intermediate body is supplied to the laminate composite web or to the laminate composite or is moulded into the carrier film such that the intermediate body or the intermediate bodies surrounds/surround all of the free surfaces of the substrate at least in regions. The laminate composite and all of the intermediate bodies are introduced between two packaging material webs. The packaging material webs are sealed to each other. Finally, the sealed-edge pouches are separated. A device for producing sealed-edge pouches and a sealed-edge pouch produced according to this method are also provided.
