A postpress system (1) and method for producing and processing product units (P), in particular printed end products (P) with printed product collections comprising a plurality of products, selected from the group of wrapping products, and a plurality of part products and/or inserts, to make route adapted stacks or packs, at least some of the printed end products (P) being product units which have been customized for specific addressees are proposed. By using feed devices (3) which each comprise a supply conveyor (31), a preparation circuit (32) with a plurality of transport units (321) and an output conveyor (33), printed products (D) are fed in a controlled fashion to the holding units (21) with reliability. A sorting device (6) with at least one directing group with at least one gate (62), a transit section (612) and at least one supply section is used to correct faults, or deviations in the product sequence from the production sequence.

An apparatus for performing at least one of buffering and sorting during an operation includes an enclosure, a storage section within the enclosure, an input section configured to receive at the enclosure at least a portion of a printed element, a gripper associated with the input section, the gripper configured to selectively transport the at least a portion of the printed element from the input section to the storage section and to selectively transport the at least a portion of the printed element from the storage section within the enclosure, and an output section configured to selectively transfer the at least a portion of the printed element from the enclosure.
PAPER STACKING UNIT AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
The paper stacking unit includes a paper stacking section on which the paper is stacked, a paper stacking mechanism which carries the paper to the paper stacking section on which the paper is stacked, and an abutment surface on which an end of the paper is abutted. The paper stacking mechanism includes a gripper member for holding the paper and a gripper moving mechanism. The gripper member holds the paper under the first holding force in a moving range from a holding position to a stacking position, and holds the paper under the second holding force upon the abutment of the end of the paper on the abutment surface from the stacking position.

A sheet stacking apparatus includes: a sheet stacking part on which a sheet is stacked; a tilt detection sensor arranged on an upstream side in a conveying direction of the sheet of the sheet stacking part, and which detects a tail end in the conveying direction in the conveyed sheet; a pair of correction rollers arranged on a downstream side in the conveying direction of the tilt detection sensor and arranged immediately before an upstream side in the conveying direction of the sheet stacking part, and which corrects a tilt of the sheet; and a sheet holder that holds the sheet with the tilt corrected by the pair of correction rollers, and conveys and stacks the sheet on the sheet stacking part.

EJECTOR MEMBER AND MACHINE FOR PROCESSING SHEET-FORM ELEMENTS
An ejector member (2) for removing waste from sheets on the fly in a machine (1) for processing sheet-form elements includes a comb (4) having a plurality of teeth (10). The comb (4) is configured to be able to adopt a low-throughput first position and at least one high-throughput second position. The center of the comb (4) is set back with respect to the lateral ends of the comb (4) in the high-throughput second position. The center of the comb (4) is set back further in the high-throughput second position than in the low-throughput first position. Also relates a machine for processing sheet-form elements including such an ejector member.
SHEET TRANSPORTING MECHANISM AND IMAGE FORMATION APPARATUS COMPRISING THE SAME
A sheet transporting mechanism transports a sheet from a storage tray to a stacking tray, and includes: a first transporter that moves between initial and first positions to transport the sheet from the initial position toward the stacking tray; a second transporter that transports the transported sheet by the first transporter to the stacking tray; a single motor that drives the first and second transporters; a guide rail that guides movement of the second transporter; a first transmission gear that transmits a driving force of the single motor to move the first transporter between the initial and first positions; a second transmission gear that transmits the driving force of the single motor to move the guide rail in an upward and downward direction; and a third transmission gear that transmits the driving force of the single motor to allow the second transporter to be guided by the guide rail.

A feed appliance for feeding products to a further processing appliance includes a standby circulatory apparatus with a takeover station and with several transport units that are circulatorily movable independently of one another for each receiving a product at the takeover station, a provision conveyor for feeding the products to the takeover station, and a control device for controlling the feed of the products and of the transport units into a takeover section of the takeover station and for controlling the takeover of the fed products by the transport units. The standby circulatory apparatus for creating a gapless product stream includes a release device for the cyclically controlled release of individual transport units into the takeover section. For this, the control device is designed to release a transport unit only given a feed of a cyclically correct product into the takeover section.
