REUSABLE FLOSS HANDLE WITH A REPLACEMENT FLOSS MEMBER
An oral care device is provided that both simultaneously flosses between teeth and scrapes a tooth surface. The oral care device includes flat floss having a rectangular cross section and a piece of material having greater stiffness than the flat floss directly overlaying an outer surface of the flat floss. The piece of material acts as the scraper and is at least partially arcuate in cross section.
REUSABLE FLOSS HANDLE WITH A REPLACEMENT FLOSS MEMBER
A flossing device including a handle and a selectively lockable floss frame carrying a taught floss string is provided. The flossing device locks the floss frame to the handle to position the taught floss lengthwise parallel to the longitudinal axis associated with the handle. A locking assembly effectuates the selective locking engagement of the floss frame to the handle. The locking assembly may be positioned adjacent two arms formed in the handle defining a slot configured to slidably receive the floss frame.
FLOSSER ATTACHMENT FOR DENTAL TOOL
A dental flosser includes a flosser member configured to secure a piece of dental floss. The flosser member includes a shoulder portion comprising a hinge and two arms coupled to the shoulder portion, each arm configured to secure a respective end of the piece of dental floss. The flosser also includes an adjustment body coupled to the flosser member, whereby linear movement of the adjustment body causes the flosser member arms to articulate about the hinge.
ELASTIC DENTAL FLOSS LOOP
A dental floss loop includes an elastic band having a diameter when in a relaxed position smaller than a distance between a user's thumb and pinkie on one hand.
Kit and Method for Home Use for Interproximal Reduction (IPR) Stripping of Teeth for Braces or Aligners
An interproximal reduction (IPR) kit and method for using the same. The patient takes their own dental impression and submits it to a dental service provider for a treatment plan. A set of aligners based on the treatment plan are then delivered to the patient as part of a kit. The kit also includes a set of written instructions and/or a treatment diagram and a plurality of strips used to reduce the widths of specific spots of the patient's teeth according to the treatment plan. The patient follows the reapproximation instructions or is instructed to go to a website for supervision for the performance of the reapproximation process. After sufficient instruction, the patient applies the plurality of strips to the correct spots between their teeth. Once reapproximation is complete, the patient is ready to begin wearing the aligners as dictated by the treatment plan.
ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE FOR PERSONAL CARE
An electrical appliance for personal care includes a handle with a longitudinal axis, and a plug-on part which can be attached to the handle, wherein a vibration unit having an electric motor and an eccentric element is arranged in the handle, wherein a plug-like coupling structure protrudes from the handle, which plug-like coupling structure forms an interface with a substantially mirror-inverted socket-like coupling structure of the plug-on part, wherein the interface has at least two stages with different circumferential geometry, wherein at least one of the stages has a rotation-preventing device between the handle and the plug-on part, and wherein a stop surface of the handle for the plug-on part extends obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the handle.
Colored Dental Floss and a Method for Using Colored Dental Floss
Colored dental floss and a method for using colored dental floss. The colored dental floss includes an elongated filament having a plurality of segments, wherein each segment is a distinct color. The elongated filament is disposed within an interior volume of a container. The container includes an aperture for the elongated filament to pass therethrough. The method of using colored dental floss includes the steps of preparing a lingual side of a plurality of teeth for application of a bonding agent, applying the bonding agent to the lingual side, threading the elongated filament between a desired number of adjacent teeth in sections such that the elongated filament forms a plurality of loops on the lingual side, placing a wire through the plurality of loops, tensioning the elongated filament, applying the bonding agent to a contact point between the lingual side and the wire, curing the bonding agent, and removing the elongated filament.
Dental Scraper
The present invention is a consumer-oriented dental scraper, which helps the user maintain healthy teeth and gums via scraping away calculus, tartar, plaque, food particles, and other undesirable formations on teeth. The core components of the invention are a scraping head having a scraping edge and at least one scraping surface, a handle, and a finger grip, which are configured as follows: the back face of the scraping head is attached to the front end of the handle, and the finger grip is attached to the back end of the handle. The handle is optionally curved for better access to teeth. Optionally, the present invention is combined with a second scraping head, a dental pick, a flosser, a tongue scraper, or a toothbrush for greater flexibility in maintaining dental hygiene. Further, the present invention is produced in a disposable and biodegradable fashion.
TETHER FOR INTRAORAL DEVICES
A safety device for tethering an object during intraoral use, such as a dental finger driver. A tether includes a semi-rigid tip portion connected to a flexible, inelastic tail. The tip portion is oriented parallel with the length of the tail during use. The tail may be formed from a filament, such as nylon monofilament. The tip portion may be formed from plastic. The tip can be easily inserted through an aperture in the device being tethered, with the tail portion being pulled through the aperture and secured to the intraoral object. The tail portion may be secured by a knot, a stopper, or a loop formed in a second end of the tail, through which the tip may be passed.
Dental Floss Perioscope
This disclosure proposes a technique for finding and treating areas of tooth decay primarily below the gum line using protuberances provided in a length of modified dental floss. The length of modified dental floss is provided with protuberances which can be used to detect areas of tooth decay by the roughness and sensitivity felt as the length of modified dental floss glides over the area of tooth decay. Specially designed posts are used to anchor the ends of the length of modified dental floss in order to be able to apply greater force during flossing, and free up fingers that would normally have the dental floss wrapped around them, to guide the floss to the right locations for flossing.
