Dental implantoplasty tool for treatment of peri-implantis in dental implants
A dental tool for resurfacing thread forms of a dental implant is disclosed. The tool includes a main body having a cylindrical member with a slot. A blade having a head is inserted in the slot to orient the head to protrude from the interior surface of the cylindrical member of the main body. The main body may be rotated into traversing a thread form of the implant. A compression sleeve is inserted over the main body. The compression sleeve has an open position and a closed position to hold the blade in the slot. The compression sleeve may be flexed by relative movement of the blades to resurface threads of a tapered dental implant.
Mechanical adapter to transfer motion from rotational to swinging via a slotted cam structure
A mechanical rotational-swinging adapter is provided to transfer a continuous rotational input from a driving tool into back-and-forth swinging output via a slotted cam structure. When the rotational-swinging adapter is installed between the nosecone and the air motor of a conventional dental handpiece, the nosecone outputs the back-and-forth swinging movement for dental work such as root canal or prophylaxis treatments.
Oral Care Device with Sacrificial Electrode
A container, a toothbrush, or a device including at least one sacrificial electrode. In one aspect, the container may include a body adapted to contain an oral care solution and a cap selectively removable from the body. The cap may include a cavity configured to contain a fluid, a first electrode comprising a sacrificial metal, a second electrode spaced from the first electrode, and an electrical connection electrically connecting the first electrode and the second electrode to a power source. Activation of the power source may generate an electric field between the first and second electrodes, thereby causing the sacrificial metal of the first electrode to release ions into the fluid in the cavity of the cap.
Oral care refill head and oral care kit including the same
An oral care refill head and an oral care kit comprising the same. The oral care refill head may include a sleeve portion, a head portion, and an elastomeric prophy cup. The sleeve portion may have an inner surface that defines an internal cavity for receiving a portion of a stem of an oral care implement handle therein so that the oral care refill head can be repetitively attached to and detached from the oral care implement handle. The elastomeric prophy cup may comprise an outer surface that forms at least a portion of a peripheral side surface of the head portion. The elastomeric prophy cup may be formed by injection molding an elastomeric material onto a support portion of the head portion. The oral care refill head may be packaged together with a store of an anti-sensitivity oral care material to form a kit.
COUPLING MECHANISMS FOR TEETH-CLEANING DEVICES
The various embodiments described herein include methods, devices, systems, and associated coupling mechanisms for customized dental care. In one aspect, a dental device is customized for a particular user, including: (1) a mouthpiece assembly including: (a) a dental mouthpiece; and (b) a male connector; and (2) a drive assembly including: (a) an actuator; and (b) a female connector. The male and female connectors facilitates the correct alignment and orientation, and also efficiently transfer vibrations from the drive assembly to the mouthpiece assembly.
INSTRUMENT HANDLE WITH COMPONENT HOLDER
An instrument handle is provided. The instrument handle includes an elongated structure extending between a first end and a second end, the first end extending to a functional head component or is configured to couple to a removable functional head component, and the elongated structure is interrupted by a holding assembly having a through-hole configured to receive a solid object. The holding assembly can have one or more connectors configured to securably retain the solid object therein. A dental mirror including the instrument handle is also provided.
Oral care implement
Oral care implement that can be detachably coupled to a handle having a motor. The oral care implement includes a drive assembly to operably engage the motor, a head portion that includes a body, a first carrier comprising a plurality of bristle tufts extending from the first carrier, the first carrier comprising a central passageway; and a second carrier disposed within the central passageway of the first carrier, the second carrier comprising an elastomeric cleaning element extending from the second carrier. The drive assembly may be operably coupled to each of the first and second carriers and configured to: (1) produce a first oscillatory motion of the first carrier about a first rotational axis; and (2) produce a second oscillatory motion of the second carrier, the second oscillatory motion being counter to the first oscillatory motion.
SUBGINGIVAL CLEANING
A subgingival cleaning system (10) for cleaning a subgingival region such as a periodontal pocket is disclosed. The system comprises a liquid flow source (60) for producing a liquid flow and a gas flow source (70) for producing a gas flow. Each of the liquid flow source and the gas flow source are coupled to a nozzle arrangement (40) arranged to be aimed at a subgingival region to be cleaned, the nozzle arrangement comprising at least one nozzle (41, 42, 43). The system is configured to produce a fluid stream comprising a series of liquid pulses from said liquid flow source, said liquid pulses each having a duration of 5-100 ms, preferably 8-40 ms, with an interval of 1-50 ms, preferably 2-10 ms, between subsequent liquid pulses; and a gas flow from said gas flow source at least partially filling said intervals. Also disclosed is a nozzle arrangement for forming such a subgingival cleaning system.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR WHITENING TEETH
Compositions and methods for whitening the teeth of a patient or subject include the application of at least one tooth whitening composition to the surface of a stained tooth, accompanied by the application of a sealant composition that forms a protective film or coating on the tooth surface to resist moisture contamination of the oxidizing composition. The whitening procedure can be further enhanced by removal of acquired pellicle from the tooth surface prior to application of oxidizing and sealant compositions. The novel procedure allows for a high degree of tooth whitening by protecting the oxidizing composition while it is in contact with the tooth surface.
Systems and methods for treatment of an oral cavity
A method and apparatus for the concurrent treatment of multiple oral diseases and defects while promoting general oral hygiene utilizing direct current electricity and methods for manufacturing the same. Electrodes are used to deliver a direct current to the gingival tissues of a mouth in order to achieve a number of therapeutic, prophylactic, and regenerative benefits. These benefits include killing oral microbes, increasing oral vasodilation, reducing oral biofilm, improving oral blood circulation, reversing oral bone resorption, promoting oral osteogenesis, treating gum recession, and fostering gingival regeneration. Other benefits include the treatment of gingivitis, periodontitis, and oral malodor, and other systemic diseases correlated with oral pathogens.
