The oral care implement includes a drive assembly to operably engage the motor, a head portion that includes a body, a first carrier comprising a plurality of bristle tufts extending from the first carrier, the first carrier comprising a central passageway; and a second carrier disposed within the central passageway of the first carrier, the second carrier comprising an elastomeric cleaning element extending from the second carrier. The drive assembly may be operably coupled to each of the first and second carriers and configured to: (1) produce a first oscillatory motion of the first carrier about a first rotational axis; and (2) produce a second oscillatory motion of the second carrier, the second oscillatory motion being counter to the first oscillatory motion.
Oral Care Implement
Described herein is an oral care implement that includes a head portion; a cup member extending from a front surface of the head portion along a first axis, the elastomeric cup member comprising: a top surface; a plurality of grooves formed into the top surface; a plurality of rib members, wherein adjacent ones of the grooves are separated by one of the rib members, each of the rib members extending along a rib axis that extends radially outward from the first axis, and wherein each of the rib members has a thickness that increases with distance from the first axis. The cup member may comprise a plurality of first grooves and a plurality of second grooves, and wherein each of the first grooves has a first transverse cross-section and each of the second grooves has a second transverse cross-section, the first and second transverse cross-sections being different from one another.
Debridement Paste
The present invention relates to a new and inventive composition for implant cleaning and/or debridement of hard surfaces in the oral cavity, which comprises optimally activated nanoparticles of TiO.sub.2, having a mean particle diameter (D.sub.50) of about 10-100 nm at a concentration between 0.5-500 g/L, and H.sub.2O.sub.2, at a concentration of at the most 7.5% by volume, said composition being antibacterial, without causing microbial resistance, and anti-inflammatory, and wherein said composition further comprises solid microparticles, having a mean particle diameter (D.sub.50) of about 100-200 m at a concentration between 0.5-300 g/L, for improved mechanical debridement and/or cleaning of rough surfaces in the oral cavity and/or on an implant.
MEDICAL ROBOTIC WORK STATION
A medical robotic work station includes a frame and a robotic manipulator mounted on the frame for performing a treatment procedure on a patient seated in a chair adjacent the frame. The patient is in a seating posture and support locations are provided on the frame for resting bony members of the patient. Sensors track movement and position of the body members of the patient during performance of the treatment procedure by the robotic manipulator. The robotic manipulator is adapted to perform at least one of a medical, a dental, an ophthalmic and an orthopedic treatment procedure. A physician sits at a display monitor of a physician's work station for programming, monitoring and verifying a robot program for controlling the robotic manipulator to perform the treatment procedure.
DENTAL IMPLANTOPLASTY TOOL FOR TREATMENT OF PERI-IMPLANTIS IN DENTAL IMPLANTS
A dental tool for resurfacing thread forms of a dental implant is disclosed. The tool includes a main body having a cylindrical member with a slot. A blade having a head is inserted in the slot to orient the head to protrude from the interior surface of the cylindrical member of the main body. The main body may be rotated into traversing a thread form of the implant. A compression sleeve is inserted over the main body. The compression sleeve has an open position and a closed position to hold the blade in the slot. The compression sleeve may be flexed by relative movement of the blades to resurface threads of a tapered dental implant.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATMENT OF AN ORAL CAVITY
A method and apparatus for the concurrent treatment of multiple oral diseases and defects while promoting general oral hygiene utilizing direct current electricity and methods for manufacturing the same. Electrodes are used to deliver a direct current to the gingival tissues of a mouth in order to achieve a number of therapeutic, prophylactic, and regenerative benefits. These benefits include killing oral microbes, increasing oral vasodilation, reducing oral biofilm, improving oral blood circulation, reversing oral bone resorption, promoting oral osteogenesis, treating gum recession, and fostering gingival regeneration. Other benefits include the treatment of gingivitis, periodontitis, and oral malodor, and other systemic diseases correlated with oral pathogens.
ORAL CARE REFILL HEAD AND ORAL CARE KIT INCLUDING THE SAME
An oral care refill head and an oral care kit comprising the same. The oral care refill head may include a sleeve portion, a head portion, and an elastomeric prophy cup. The sleeve portion may have an inner surface that defines an internal cavity for receiving a portion of a stem of an oral care implement handle therein so that the oral care refill head can be repetitively attached to and detached from the oral care implement handle. The elastomeric prophy cup may comprise an outer surface that forms at least a portion of a peripheral side surface of the head portion. The elastomeric prophy cup may be formed by injection molding an elastomeric material onto a support portion of the head portion. The oral care refill head may be packaged together with a store of an anti-sensitivity oral care material to form a kit.
Article and method for controlling oral-originated obligate and facultative anaerobes and aerobic bacteria pathogens related to systemic disease
Method of treating oral subgingival biofilms having obligate anaerobes, facultative anaerobes, aerobic bacteria and other micro-organisms (collectively oral pathogens) associated with certain systemic diseases present within a subgingival biofilm having proteins and amino acids, the steps including providing a periodontal medicament delivery tray having a seal against a patient's adjacent gums containing the oral biofilms with the systemic disease, said seal formed so as to have no contact with teeth, applying to the gingival tissue (sulcus or periodontal pocket) a biofilm penetrating antimicrobial agent, removing the imbedded oral pathogens from the gingival tissue following at least one applying of the antimicrobial agent to the gingival tissue; repeatedly administering colloidal hydrogen peroxide gel to the gingival tissue following the removing; and following each administering cleaning the gingival tissue with a cleaning agent directly following the administering of the colloidal hydrogen peroxide gel for modifying the environment from anaerobic to commensal.
DENTAL PROPHYLACTIC TREATMENT DEVICE
