IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
In an image forming apparatus capable of turning over a sheet to form images on both sides of the sheet, when duplex printing is executed successively on three or more sheets, a controller causes a first sheet conveyed from an image forming unit and a second sheet conveyed from the image forming unit to be guided into a first path by positioning a guide member in a first position, and then conveyed into a third path by a first roller, and causes a third and subsequent sheets conveyed from the image forming unit to be guided into a second path by positioning the guide member in a second position, and then conveyed into the third path by a second roller.

COMPACT REJECT BIN
A bin for storing rejected media items at a self-service terminal such as an automated teller machine has an input channel for receiving a sequential series of media items such as checks or bank notes. Opposing driven rollers receive the sequential series of media items via the input channel and push out each of the sequential series of media items into an output channel. A storage receptacle receives each of the sequential series of media items pushed out by the opposing driven rollers via the output channel. The storage receptacle has an annular-shaped storage cavity formed by an inner cylindrical wall and an outer wall. The outer wall is at least partially cylindrical and optionally includes a plurality of ramp-like protrusions on an inner surface thereof which aid in preventing input jams at the storage receptacle.

Medium discharge device and recording apparatus
A medium discharge device includes: a discharge unit that discharges a medium; a first medium receiving tray that receives the medium discharged by the discharge unit; and a second medium receiving tray that is provided above the first medium receiving tray in a vertical direction and receives the medium discharged by the discharge unit. The second medium receiving tray is capable of changing a position between an advance position for receiving a medium, which is discharged, by causing at least an upstream zone of the tray including an upstream side end portion in a medium discharge direction to advance to a passing route of the medium from the discharge unit toward the first medium receiving tray and a retraction position to which the upstream zone retracts from the passing route.

A DEVICE, AN APPARATUS AND A METHOD FOR DIRECTING BANK NOTES
A note directing device (1) comprises a first note feeder (11), a brushed roller (2), and a second note feeder (12); wherein: the first note feeder (11) feeds the bank note (10) along a direction (A) tangential to a bank note (10) surface and presents the leading edge (14) of the bank note (10) to the brushed roller (2); the brushed roller (2) engages with the bank note (10) and rotates in a direction (B) such that the leading edge (14) is directed towards the second note feeder (12); the second note feeder (12) accepts the leading edge (14) and feeds the bank note (10) along a direction (C) tangential to a bank note (10) surface; wherein the brushed roller (2) comprises an axis (4) and bristles (6), each bristle (6) being attached at one end to the axis (4) and extending radially from said axis (4), the distribution of bristles (6) extending along a longitudinal direction (E) of the axis (4).
BANKNOTE GUIDING DEVICE
The banknote guiding device comprises a first, second and third guide assemblies, each guide assembly being rotatory to be placed in either a first or second position for the guiding of banknotes into channels, wherein the first and second guide assemblies are rotary about a first rotation axis, and the third guide assembly is rotary around a second rotation axis. It provides a banknote guiding device that is as simple as possible while minimizing the gaps between the guide assemblies to avoid banknote jams during travel.
Medium processing apparatus and recording system
A first unit includes a receiving portion that receives a medium to be processed, a drying unit that processes the medium received from the receiving portion, and an end stitching unit that processes the medium received from the receiving portion or the medium processed by the drying unit. The processing performed by the drying unit is processing of drying the medium, the drying unit is located vertically below the end stitching unit, and the drying unit and the end stitching unit have a portion overlapping when viewed in a vertical direction.
Medium transport device and image forming apparatus
A medium transport device includes a medium guide member, a driving source, a first movement member, a movement restricting member, and a second moving member. The medium guide member is movable between a first guide position, in which the medium guide member guides a medium toward a receiving member on which the medium is loaded, and a second guide position, in which the medium guide member guides the medium from the receiving member into the device. The driving source moves the medium guide member. The first movement member moves the medium guide member in accordance with an operation of the driving source. The movement restricting member is movable together with the medium guide member. The second moving member is movable between a first position, in which the second moving member is located close to the movement restricting member to restrict the medium guide member from moving from the second guide position to the first guide position, and a second position, in which the second moving member is spaced apart from the movement restricting member to allow the medium guide member to move to the first guide position. The second moving member moves from the first position to the second position when the medium guide member moves toward the first guide position in response to an operation of the driving source.
