Material reduction machine with silenced chute

A material reduction machine includes an infeed portion operable to receive material to be reduced, and a cutting mechanism operable to reduce material fed in from the infeed portion. An outlet chute has a first end operable to receive the material reduced by the cutting mechanism and a second end operable to discharge the reduced material from the machine, wherein the outlet chute extends along a curved path. The outlet chute includes, along a radially-inner side of the curved path, a foraminous interior wall providing communication with a sound attenuation layer.

Waste Processing Machine Winch Docking Safety System
20170291176 · 2017-10-12 ·

A waste processing machine for reducing material and having a docking safety system. A cutting assembly on a frame reduces material. A feed system on the frame directs material toward the cutting assembly. A winch assembly includes a line with a line end for securing material, and a driver on the frame to urge the line end toward the driver. A keeper fixed to the frame secures the line end to the frame. A docking subassembly, spaced from the keeper, is movable between: a docked position with the line tensioned against the subassembly between the driver and the line end secured to the keeper; and an undocked position with the line loosened against the subassembly. A control unit allows operation of the feed system when the subassembly is in the docked position, and at least partially limits operation of the feed system when the subassembly is in the undocked position.

METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SUPERABSORBENT PELLETS AND/OR OF A FIBROUS MATERIAL FROM CROP RESIDUES
20170198412 · 2017-07-13 ·

The method of the invention comprises the following steps:

(i) cutting the maize stalks so as the less leafy stalk segments, higher than 70 cm, stay on the field;
(ii) cutting the less leafy stalk segments as close to the ground as possible;
(iii) harvesting the less leafy stalk segments cut in step (ii);
(iv) cutting the in step (iii) harvested less leafy stalk segments into 5-50 mm stalk sections;
(v) providing a mechanical impact to the stalk sections of step (iv) to obtain a mix containing: f1. said spongy cores forming the superabsorbent pellets fraction, f2. said elongated fiber pieces forming the fibrous matter fraction, f3. and said leaf matter forming the leafy fraction, (vi) separating the 3 fractions from each other; (vii) recovering the three fractions f1-f2-f3;

The invention also pertains to the so obtained products and to their uses in treatments of liquids or gases.

HORIZONTAL GRINDING MACHINE WITH ENGINE FUEL CONSUMPTION CONTROL

A horizontal grinding machine includes a frame, a feed hopper that is adapted to receive material to be processed and a feed conveyor that is associated with the feed hopper and adapted to move material to be processed in a processing direction. The grinding machine includes a grinding cylinder that is adapted to rotate about a generally horizontal grinding axis and a feed roller assembly that is mounted on the frame at the rear end of the feed hopper and in front of the grinding cylinder. The feed roller assembly includes a feed roller that is adapted to rotate about a generally horizontal axis in a first direction that urges the material towards the grinding cylinder and a second direction that urges the material away from the grinding cylinder. A controller is operatively connected to the feed roller and to the feed conveyor and is adapted to control the rotational speed of the feed roller and the speed of the feed conveyor to obtain a predetermined ratio of feed roller rotational speed to feed conveyor speed.

Brush Chipper Assembly with Counter-Rotating Feeder Rollers and Actuating Chipping Heads
20170164563 · 2017-06-15 ·

A brush chipper assembly has a housing and a feeder subassembly connected to the housing. The feeder subassembly includes opposed, first and second feeder rollers. When the feeder subassembly is actuated, the first feeder roller is operable to rotate in a first direction and the second feeder roller is operable to rotate in a second direction (opposite to the first direction) so as to draw the brush into the housing. Also provided is a chipping subassembly substantially contained within the housing behind the feeder subassembly. The chipping subassembly including first and second, opposed chipping heads, each of which carrying cutting teeth for chipping the brush. When the chipping subassembly is actuated, the first chipping head is operable to rotate in a third direction and the second chipping head is operable to rotate in a fourth direction (opposite to the second direction).
