Wire feeding system
An auxiliary wire feeder has a pushing device for advancing welding wire, a control device for controlling the pushing device, and an electric contact adapted for being in electrical connection with the welding wire. The electric contact is connected to the control device for supplying a control signal to the control device. A welding system comprises an auxiliary wire feeder of this kind and further a welding torch, a main wire feeder, a wire guide for guiding welding wire from a supply to the welding torch and a welding current contact for supplying welding current to the welding wire. For controlling an auxiliary wire feeder in a welding system having a welding torch, a main wire feeder, a wire guide for guiding welding wire from a supply to the welding torch, a welding current contact for supplying welding current to the welding wire, the control of the auxiliary welding wire feeder is responsive to an electrical signal transmitted via the welding wire.
Absorbent article(s) chassis comprising beamed elastics
The present disclosure relates to absorbent article's chassis that may comprise one or more pluralities of tightly spaced (less than 4 mm, less than 3 mm, less than 2 mm, and less than 1 mm) and/or low decitex (less than 300, less than 200, less than 100 dtex) and/or low strain (less than 300%, less than 200%, less than 100%) elastics to deliver low pressure less than 1 psi (according to the conditions defined by the Pressure-Under-Strand Test in the Method below) under the elastics. The elastics in the chassis may be oriented parallel or transverse to the longitudinal axis.
Dispensing from an apparatus
Various embodiments are described that relate to dispensing from an apparatus. The apparatus can be a cable dispensing apparatus that is attached to a vehicle. As the vehicle travels, the apparatus can lay or retract cable. The rate of this laying or retracting can be based, at least in part, on a travel condition of the vehicle.

As the vehicle travels, the apparatus can lay or retract cable. The rate of this laying or retracting can be based, at least in part, on a travel condition of the vehicle.
Methods and apparatuses for making elastomeric laminates with elastic strands unwound from spools on surface unwinders
The present disclosure relates to methods for assembling elastomeric laminates, wherein elastic material may be stretched and joined with either or both first and second substrates. First spools are rotated to unwind first elastic strands from a first unwinder in a machine direction. The first elastic strands are positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate to form an elastomeric laminate. Before the first elastic strands are completely unwound from the rotating first spools, second spools are rotated to unwind second elastic strands from a second unwinder. Subsequently, the advancement of the first elastic strands from the first unwinder is discontinued. Thus, the elastomeric laminate assembly process may continue uninterrupted while switching from an initially utilized elastic material drawn from the first spools to a subsequently utilized elastic material drawn from the second spools.
Method and system for cutting and placing nose wires in a facemask manufacturing process
A method and associated system are provided for cutting and placing individual nose wires in a facemask production line. A continuous wire is supplied from a supply source to a cutting station in the facemask production line where the continuous wire is cut into individual nose wires having a defined length. A first web is conveyed to a vacuum conveyor, and the individual nose wires are deposited from the cutting station onto the vacuum conveyor such that the nose wires are drawn by vacuum against the first web at a defined spacing and orientation. With the vacuum conveyor, the first web and attached nose wires are conveyed to a folding station wherein the first web and nose wires are combined with a second web such that the nose wires are encapsulated between the first and second webs.
Method and system for cutting and placing nose wires in a facemask manufacturing process
A method and associated system are provided for cutting and placing individual nose wires in a facemask production line. A continuous wire is supplied from a supply source to a cutting station in the facemask production line where the continuous wire is cut into individual nose wires having a defined length. A first web is conveyed to a vacuum conveyor, and the individual nose wires are deposited from the cutting station onto the vacuum conveyor such that the nose wires are drawn by vacuum against the first web at a defined spacing and orientation. With the vacuum conveyor, the first web and attached nose wires are conveyed to a folding station wherein the first web and nose wires are combined with a second web such that the nose wires are encapsulated between the first and second webs.
CABLE PROCESSING DEVICE
A cable processing device includes a cable conveying device running along a machine longitudinal axis transporting a cable, and a cable changer selectively supplying cables for processing. The cable changer has two guide units for guiding and holding one cable each and being movable between inoperative and active positions. In the inoperative position, the guide unit is positioned outside the cable conveying device spaced from the machine axis. In the active position, the guide unit is positioned coaxially with the machine axis producing an operative connection to the cable conveying device. The guide units are movable independently of each other. When one of the guide units is moved from the inoperative position into the active position, the other guide unit remains positionally fixed in the inoperative position. When the guide units are both in their inoperative positions, they are positioned lying next to each other on a common horizontal plane.

Disposable absorbent articles having cuffs of improved stretch laminate structure
An absorbent article having longitudinal cuffs of improved structure is disclosed. The improved cuffs may be elasticized by a plurality of elastic strands that are substantially greater in number, closer in spacing, lower in pre-strain, and lower in decitex, or any combination of these, as compared with those in conventional articles. This combination of features results in ruffles or gathers of cuff material joined to the elastic strands that are substantially greater in machine-direction frequency and substantially lesser in z-direction amplitude, than those in conventional articles. As a result, the cuff structure lies more closely and evenly against the wearer's skin, has an improved, more cloth-like appearance, provides improved gasketing, and provides improved wearer comfort, as compared with cuff structures in conventional articles. A method for manufacturing articles with such cuff structures, utilizing a warp beam as a supply mechanism, is also disclosed.
