FILAMENT WINDING APPARATUS

A filament winding apparatus winds, around a workpiece, a fiber bundle formed by bundling a plurality of fibers. The filament winding apparatus includes a widening roller that rotates while making contact with the fiber bundle that is being conveyed. The widening roller has, provided on the peripheral surface, a plurality of projecting ridges extending in the axial direction, the projecting ridges being arranged side by side in the circumferential direction. The projecting ridges make contact with the fiber bundle to thereby widen the fiber bundle.

The invention relates to a tape element dispenser system containing a container having an opening and is configured to enclose a volume. The system also contains a single elongated tape element having a width and a height where the width is at least 5 times the height. The tape element has two ends rotationally wound in a first direction into a hollow cylinder having a central axis, the hollow having two parallel annular bases perpendicular to the central axis and the single elongated element is unwound from the hollow cylinder from one of the annular bases approximately parallel to the central axis. The single elongated element has a twist in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The opening of the container comprises a main slit having a width of at least about 105% the width of the single elongated tape element.

Tool device for installing optical fibers at user premises

A tool device for installing an optical fiber inside a user premises includes a neck, a coupling joined to the neck for attachment to a leading end of an adhesive syringe or an extension pole, and a head joined to a leading portion of the neck. The head has a leading edge of a certain width, and a passageway for receiving an optical fiber and guiding the fiber to a position proximate to the leading edge. The width of the leading edge is such that when the edge is held transversely across a structural corner containing an adhesive bead, and an optical fiber is received in the passageway in the head and directed ahead of the leading edge, the edge embeds the fiber in the bead when the edge is swept along the corner with the optical fiber positioned between the edge and the adhesive bead.

Dual-screw line guide

A dual-screw line guide is disclosed. A first screw has a first helical groove. A second screw has a second helical groove. The first helical groove and the second helical groove align, thereby forming a groove space, as the first screw and the second screw rotate in opposing radial directions. The groove space is configured for a line to pass therethrough.
