A crescent notch in a printer chassis receives the shaft into an interior of the notch. The assembly is moved axially so that a flange neck nests in the notch with a flange lip contacting a surface of the chassis. A lock contacts the lip to prevent axial motion of the assembly when installed. An opposed side of the shaft is placed in a bearing on an opposite side of the chassis.

The bypass tray loads the recording medium to be fed toward the sheet feeding port. The rotation support supports the bypass tray. The temporary retainer positions the bypass tray both in a vertical direction relative to the sheet feeding port and in a perpendicular direction perpendicular to the sheet feeding direction. The temporary retainer temporarily retains the bypass tray.

The indicator is provided in the second supporting unit and indicates an amount of the sheets supported on the supporting portion by moving in response to an ascendance and descendance move of the elevation portion.

The sheet processing unit inserts an inner sheet into a two-ply sheet in which two sheets are overlapped and bonded together at one ends as a bonding portion. The sheet feeder is disposed above the sheet processing unit and is movable to open to expose the sheet processing unit. The sheet feeder feeds one of the two-ply sheet and the inner sheet. The unit cover is disposed above the sheet processing unit and opens to expose the sheet processing unit.

Stripper assembly

A stripper assembly can include a feed wheel, a stripping tire, a drag clutch, and first and second stripping elements. The feed wheel and stripping tire can be mounted for rotation in clockwise (CW) and counter-clockwise (CCW) directions and can contact one another to define a nip through which papers are directed. The drag clutch can be interposed between the stripping tire and the shaft it is mounted upon. The first and second stripping elements can be positioned on the shaft of the stripping tire on opposite sides of the nip. Each of the stripping elements can be configured and positioned to engage papers passing through the nip. The drag clutch is not interposed between either of the first and second stripping elements and the shaft of the stripping tire.

The feed tray includes: a first accommodating part configured to accommodate a rolled body formed by rolling the sheet medium; a second accommodating part configured to accommodate a plurality of sheet media in a stacked state, each of the sheet media being the sheet medium; a contact surface configured to contact, from below, the sheet medium unrolled from the rolled body accommodated in the first accommodating part; and a support member having a support surface configured to support the sheet media accommodated in the second accommodating part. The feed roller is movable between a contact position at which the feed roller contacts the contact surface and a separation position at which the feed roller is away from the contact surface.
