DENTAL LASER UNIT WITH COMMUNICATION LINK TO ASSISTANCE CENTER
A medical treatment apparatus includes a power and control (PAC) device. The PAC device provides electrical power through a cable to a laser handpiece assembly to electrically power a laser source within the handpiece assembly. The PAC device controls operation of the handpiece assembly and detects an identification of the handpiece assembly. The PAC device also monitors data relating to operation of the handpiece assembly. The PAC device uploads, through a communication network to a user assistance center remote from the PAC device, the handpiece assembly identification and the monitored data.
Dental appliance for use in supporting sensing devices within an oral cavity
A dental appliance for use in supporting a sensing device within an oral cavity is described herein. The dental appliance includes a sensor assembly and a tooth cap. The sensor assembly includes a support member and a sensor support assembly extending outwardly from the support member. The sensor support assembly includes a recessed portion that defines a sensor chamber that is configured to receive the sensing device therein. The tooth cap is coupled to the sensor assembly and adapted to be positioned within the oral cavity and orientated along a biting surface.
DENTAL APPLIANCE HAVING SENSING CAPABILITIES
A dental usage monitoring system having a dental appliance, a sensor unit having at least one sensor attached to the dental appliance, a power supply attached to the dental appliance, and an analyzer. The at least one sensor attached to the dental appliance is configured to collect data related to usage of the dental appliance. An analyzer in communication with the sensor and is configured to determine usage of the dental appliance based upon the collected data. The dental usage monitoring system can include a base module configured to receive collected data, transmit data to the analyzer, and recharge the sensor unit. The base module can be further configured to calibrate the collected data. The sensor unit can be embedded in the dental appliance or coupled to the dental appliance. The sensor unit may be encased in a protective coating.
DENTAL OR SURGICAL HANDPIECE WITH AN RFID TRANSPONDER
The invention provides for a dental or surgical handpiece with an elongated handle sleeve (110) and a head piece (50) attached to the front end of the handle sleeve (110) that serves to to detachably receive a dental tool as well as for a clamping mechanism (20) formed in the head piece (50) to detachably hold the tool, the clamping mechanism (20) having a push-button (10) for actuating the clamping mechanism (20). The handpiece further has an RFID transponder (5) for identifying the handpiece. The push-button (10) consists of a heat-insulating electrically non-conductive plastic or m ceramic material with a plate-shaped recess that holds the RFID transponder (5). The push-button (10) has a flat round shape so that the RFID transponder (5), because of the equally flat round shape of its coil, can be integrated very well into it. Particularly advantageous ambient electrical conditions can be achieved for the RFID transponder as the push-button (10) is made of an electrically non-conductive material. An advantageous thermal insulation is provided as the push-button (10) is made of a heat-insulating material.
Oral Appliance Holder
In certain aspects, devices and methods for an oral appliance holder that can detect analyte information originating from oral appliances stored in the appliance holder. The analyte information can be derived from found in volatilized compounds detected within the appliance holder. The appliance holder can directly or indirectly communicate with a server that is configured to process the analyte information. The analyte information can be processed to develop a wellness profile.
Personal care systems, products, and methods
A personal care system having personal hygiene products and a display for assisting the user is described. The personal care system can include a personal care product (e.g., an electric toothbrush), an interactive display in data communication with the personal care product. The display provides information associated with a plurality of characteristics of a personal care regimen to the user. The display is in data communication with a network and operable to receive information from the network, and the display is operable to run one or more applications to display the information received from the network.
ORAL CARE METHOD USING ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH WHICH IS CAPABLE OF BEING INTERLINKED WITH APPLICATION
An oral care method using an electric toothbrush includes receiving brushing data from an electric toothbrush, by an application; and analyzing the brushing data by the application to display a brushing score indicating how much the brushing is performed.
CASE FOR DENTAL APPLIANCES
A storage case for a dental appliance includes a storage portion, a cover, and a location device. The storage portion includes a compartment that is configured to store a dental appliance of a user. The cover is coupled to the storage portion and configured to selectively move between an open position and closed position. The cover permits access to the compartment when in the open position and restricts access to the compartment when in the closed position. The location device includes a communications device and a speaker. The speaker is configured to generate a sound based on the communications device receiving a signal from a mobile device of the user.
Medical treatment instrument temperature information management device
A medical treatment instrument temperature information management device includes: a wireless tag that is disposed at an instrument; and a reader-writer as a reading unit that reads data from the wireless tag. The wireless tag includes: a temperature sensor; and an IC chip including a storage part. The wireless tag makes the storage part store therein temperature information on temperature of the instrument based on a value detected by the temperature sensor. This makes it possible to manage the temperature information on temperature of the instrument such as a medical treatment instrument with reliability.
Medical or dental instrument having an RFID memory tag
A medical or dental instrument having a metal instrument component and an RFID memory tag having a memory chip for storing data, wherein the RFID memory tag is attached to the medical or dental instrument such that the RFID memory tag is electrically connected to the metal instrument component such that the metal instrument component forms an antenna for the RFID memory tag for wireless energy and/or data transfer. An electrically conductive coupling element electrically connects the RFID memory tag to the metal instrument component forming an antenna, the electrically conductive coupling element having a planar first coupling surface on which the RFID memory tag is arranged and a second coupling surface arranged on the metal instrument component forming the antenna. A method for manufacturing or retrofitting a corresponding medical or dental instrument is also described.
