PELLET DELIVERY MECHANISM
Pellet delivery systems capable of reliably and precisely delivering pellets over a large area are disclosed. In some examples, the system can deliver one or more pellets in one delivery cycle using a slide chamber. In other examples, the system can deliver one or more pellets per delivery cycle using a rotating disk comprising one or more holes. In any of these examples, the system can eject the pellets using a projector and/or gravity. The pellet delivery system can, in various examples, be utilized in conjunction with a carrier such as an airborne, terrestrial or aquatic vehicle, or in other examples with a human or animal carrier. Examples of the disclosure are also directed to precise pellet delivery based on the location of the pellet deliver system, pellet delivery tracking, adjusting pellet delivery, and determining paths for efficient pellet delivery.
Apparatus for injecting a liquid into live animals
An apparatus for injecting a liquid into live animals, comprising a cradle plate (18) having a cradle (24) for accommodating at least a part of an animal, sensors (20-1, 20-2, 20-3) for detecting a force acting upon the cradle plate, an injection mechanism (16) for injecting liquid into the animal, and a control unit (38) for triggering the injection mechanism (16) in response to signals received from the sensors, wherein at least three sensors (20-1-, 20-2, 20-3) are arranged for measuring forces with which the cradle plate (18) is pressed against a base (12) in at least three non-aligned positions, and the control unit (38) is adapted to trigger the injection mechanism (16) when the forces measured by the sensors are distributed according to a predetermined pattern.
DEVICE FOR INJECTING FLUID INTO A BIRD
The present invention relates to a device for injecting fluid into a bird, the device having a main body (11), which comprises an injection assembly comprising an injection needle and at least one syringe, the needle being movable between a retracted position and an injecting position located in an injection zone positioned outside the main body (11). According to the invention, said device comprises:a guide element (12) positioned on an exterior surface of the main body (11), the guide element (12) comprising a base (13) and side edges (14) extending from said base, at least the upper part of the back of the bird to be vaccinated being intended to rest against said base (13) and to be moved, head first, along a guide axis (15) defined by the guide element (12), to the injecting position, the guide element (12) being additionally configured to keep at least the neck of the bird aligned or substantially aligned along said guide axis (15) in the injection zonethe injection needle being arranged such that when it is moved between the retracted and injecting positions, it moves along an axis of movement parallel to the exterior surface of the base, or at an angle relative to said exterior surface, said axis of movement extending, away from the main body, beyond an exclusion zone surrounding the guide axis (15).
INJECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR USE
An injection apparatus for sequentially injecting a patient with at least two medicaments may include a hand-held unit comprising a grip for being held by an operator, a single needle, a base unit coupled to the hand-held unit via at least one connecting tube, at least two containers for holding medicaments removably coupled to the base unit, and at least one pump. The at least one connecting tube can be flexible enough to enable easy maneuvering of the hand-held unit and rigid enough to prevent widening of the tube due to inner pressure when medicaments pass from the containers to the hand-held unit. The injection apparatus can be used to administer the at least two medicaments sequentially at different injection points.
MULTI-STAGE BIODEGRADABLE DRUG DELIVERY PLATFORM
Embodiments of the invention provide multi-stage biodegradable drug delivery platforms and methods for the subcutaneous delivery of therapeutic agents (TA). Embodiments of the platform may be configured to subcutaneously deliver a first dose of a first TA which is absorbed into the body and/or blood stream (BBS) to produce a first therapeutic effect for a first selectable time period (STP), and subsequently after a second STP, deliver a second dose of a second TA which is absorbed into the BBS to produce a second therapeutic effect for a third STP. An embodiment of the platform may comprise a body having a tissue-penetrating end, a primary cavity having a first TA dose and a shell having a secondary cavity having a second TA dose. The first TA dose is released after the first STP and the second TA dose is released after the second STP by biodegradation of the shell.
Angioplasty balloon having selectively deployable cutting or scoring element and related methods
Balloon angioplasty catheters having cutting or scoring members that are moveable in at least one direction between a stowed position (away from the angioplasty balloon) and an operative position (on the angioplasty balloon). A balloon catheter of the present invention alternately useable to perform balloon dilation of a body lumen with and without concurrent cutting or scoring.
Portable automatic veterinary injector device
An injector device for veterinary use, such as to inject vaccine into the chicken breast muscle. The device includes a finger-held unit connected to a vaccine pumping main unit using a flexible conduit. The operator can quickly start an injection by stroking alongside the breast edge of a grasped chicken, using his fingertips to touch and select the muscle, then start an injection by pressing the finger-held unit against the chicken breast in a designated way. The electric buttons in the finger-held unit may activate a process that actuates a mechanism to inject a hypodermic needle into the chicken's muscle, the pumping system may-then be actuated to pump the vaccine into the muscle through the injected needle.
