A method for replacing parts of an elevator door assembly including installing a hanger mount in an opening of the elevator door hanger, positioning a roller assembly on one side of the elevator door hanger, the roller assembly being configured to receive an engaging member, positioning a leveling cam on another side of the elevator door hanger, the leveling cam configured for sliding contact with a bearing surface of the hanger mount and having a first surface, a second surface, an opening between the first surface and the second surface, and a third surface for contacting the bearing surface, and inserting the engaging member through an opening of the hanger mount and the opening of the leveling cam, and securing the engaging member within the roller assembly.
METHOD FOR MODERNIZING ELEVATOR SYSTEM
A method for modernizing an elevator system, includes using a first and second car for transporting passengers and/or goods between vertically displaced floors of a building, and thereafter removing the first elevator car from use for transporting passengers and/or goods between vertically displaced floors, and thereafter installing a construction time elevator into the lower end of the first hoistway, the traveling zone of the car of the construction time elevator covering only partially the height of the first hoistway; and thereafter using the car of the construction time elevator and the second car simultaneously for transporting passengers and/or goods between vertically displaced floors of the building, during which using the method includes performing construction work in the first hoistway above the traveling zone of the car of the construction time elevator; and thereafter changing the traveling zone of the car of the construction time elevator to extend higher in the hoistway, and thereafter using the car of the construction time elevator and the second car simultaneously for transporting passengers and/or goods between vertically displaced floors, during which using the method comprises performing construction work in the first hoistway above the traveling zone of the car of the construction time elevator.
Retrofitted hoist machine
Disclosed is a method of retrofitting a legacy hoist machine including: attaching a primary brake assembly to an end surface of a machine shaft, and configuring a controller to: control the primary brake assembly to provide service braking; and control a brake drum assembly as a secondary brake assembly to thereby apply emergency braking.
Method and device for detecting non-uniform and uniform deteriorations in a suspension member arrangement for an elevator based on AC voltage measurements
A method and device detect non-uniform and uniform deterioration states in an elevator suspension member having first and second groups of electrically conductive cords. First ends of the groups are electrically connected to an alternating voltage generator arrangement and second ends are electrically connected to each other through first and second resistors via a neutral point at which electrical resistances of the groups are the same in a non-deteriorated state of the suspension member. The method includes: applying first and second alternating voltages to the first end of the first and second groups, respectively; determining a neutral point voltage between the neutral point and an electrical reference potential; determining difference voltages between first and second difference measurement points located between the second ends of the groups and the respective resistors; and determining the deterioration state based on both the determined neutral point voltage and the determined difference voltage.

Method for constructing elevator
The invention relates to a method for constructing an elevator comprising constructing a movable machine room in the bottom end of a hoistway formed in a building under construction; and thereafter hoisting the movable machine room; and constructing an elevator car in the bottom end of the hoistway below the movable machine room; and providing a counterweight in the bottom end of the hoistway below the movable machine room; connecting the elevator car and the counterweight with a suspension roping; and thereafter hoisting the movable machine room to a first transport position; and thereafter mounting the movable machine room to the first transport position in the hoistway vertically supported on stationary structures; and thereafter using the elevator car for transporting passengers and/or goods below the movable machine room while the machine room is mounted in said first transport position and the elevator car and the counterweight hang suspended from the machine room by the hoisting roping; and thereafter hoisting the movable machine room upwards to a second transport position; wherein the second transport position is higher than said first transport position; and thereafter mounting the movable machine room to the second transport position in the hoistway vertically supported on stationary structures; and thereafter using the elevator car for transporting passengers and/or goods below the movable machine room while the movable machine room is mounted in said second position.
HARDWARE SYSTEM FOR TOUCH FREE ELEVATOR OPERATION
An apparatus for retrofitting an elevator system to enable voice control includes a first main board installable within an elevator adjacent to an elevator button panel and two or more additional main boards installable on respective floors adjacent to respective elevator call panels, each of the main boards having a microphone circuit, a plurality of onboard output relays, and a processor operable to select an output relay in response to a voice command received by the microphone circuit and to output a signal to the selected output relay. One or more auxiliary output relay boards are installable within the elevator adjacent to the elevator button panel, each having a plurality of additional output relays selectable by the processor of the first main board. A controller area network (CAN) bus connects the first main board to the one or more auxiliary output relay boards.

A method is disclosed of retrofitting an elevator machine with primary and secondary braking, the machine being disposed on a machine support frame in an elevator machine room, and engaging one or more ropes for providing selective movement of an elevator car disposed in an elevator shaft, the machine having a drive sheave including a cylindrical brake drum, and brake components including dual brake arms; the method including: removing the brake components; affixing flanged disc segments about the drum and interlocking the flanged disc segments to form a brake rotor; and mounting respective brake calipers to frame mounts for providing primary and secondary braking to the elevator machine.
Jump elevator and jumping method
A jump elevator includes a machine room provided in the hoistway and configured to be fixed or movable relative to the hoistway; at least one lifting assembly comprising: a frame attached to the outside of the hoistway and partially extending into the hoistway; a pulley assembly including a winch, a fixed end, and a plurality of pulleys disposed on the machine room and the frame; wherein a pulling line is disposed between the winch, the plurality of pulleys, and the fixed end; wherein the at least one lifting assembly is disposed below the covering portion of the hoistway.
