The present invention discloses an escalator monitoring system, which includes a data collection device disposed near the parts of the escalator that require monitoring in order to collect data the parts relevant to the operation of the escalator, a data transmittal device used to send the collected data, a cloud processor used to receive the data, to compare the data against threshold data of the parts obtained under normal operating conditions stored in the database of the cloud processor, and to respond based on the comparison result. The present invention can collect the data and analyze it in any environment independent of subjective human judgment, predict possible failure without the need to stop the operation of the escalator, save maintenance time, reduce associated cost, and thus improve its safety and ride comfort.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ENSURING SOCIAL DISTANCING ON AN ESCALATOR OR TRAVELLATOR
A method and system is discussed for detecting distances between passengers walking onto escalators and moving sidewalks or travellators and for providing alerts to the passengers when minimum social distancing between the passengers is not being maintained.
Monitoring systems for passenger conveyors
A monitoring system for a passenger conveyor including: at least one acceleration sensor provided on a movable component of the passenger conveyor, wherein the moveable component moves in a closed loop path (P) when the passenger conveyor is in use; a fault detection sensor associated with the or each acceleration sensor and configured to provide data indicative of a fault in the moveable component. The monitoring system includes a controller configured to: receive data from the or each acceleration sensor; monitor a gravity vector (V) of the or each acceleration sensor; determine a direction of travel of the or each acceleration sensor; determine a current location of the or each acceleration sensor based on the monitored gravity vector (V) and the determined direction of travel; detect a fault from the data received from the or each fault detection sensor; identify a location of the detected fault.
Monitoring of the mechanical condition of an escalator or a moving walkway
The application relates to a method for detecting and monitoring the mechanical condition of an escalator or a moving walkway with at least one revolving band and at least one detecting device. The method includes (i) preparing at least one spatial image of at least one section of the revolving band, (ii) selecting at least one region of the spatial image, (iii) comparing the selected region with at least one comparison region, wherein the comparison region is defined by three-dimensional coordinates and represents a virtual space which can be clearly assigned to the selected region, and (iv) generating an alarm signal if the selected region differs from the comparison region by surpassing predetermined limits.
SAFETY CHAIN DEVICE AND SAFETY PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR ESCALATOR
A safety chain device includes a safety chain including a plurality of protective switches connected in series, each of the protective switches is configured to switch from a first state to a second state in the event of abnormal operation of a respective corresponding drive chain; a resistive network encoder having a plurality of encoder output values, each of the encoder output values corresponds to one of combinations of states of the plurality of protective switches; a processor coupled with the resistive network encoder and configured to output a level signal corresponding to the encoder output values; a first controlled current source coupled with the safety chain and configured to output a first current corresponding to a current flowing through the safety chain; and a second controlled current source coupled with the processor and configured to output a second current corresponding to the level signal.
Escalator monitoring system, method, sound data collection device and fixture therefor
An escalator monitoring system includes a data collection device disposed near parts of an escalator that need to be monitored for collecting data of the parts; a data transmittal device used to transmit data relevant to safe operation of the escalator; a local data processing device or cloud processors used to receive the data relevant to the safe operation of the escalator, to compare it against a threshold value stored therein and derived from the parts in normal operating conditions, and to respond to comparison result. The data collection device is a people traffic sensor for detecting the people traffic entering the escalator in a unit time, and an power sensor for detecting the power consumption in a unit time, a data transferring unit transfers the people traffic detected in a unit time and the power consumption detected in a unit time to the local data processing device or the cloud processors, the local data processing device or the cloud processors determines the running condition of the escalator according to the relation between the people traffic in a unit time and the power consumption in a unit time to determine whether or not an alarm signal needs to be sent.
ACCESS CONTROL INSTALLATION
An access control installation includes a structure, a moving walkway that extends between two walls of the structure from an entrance to an exit of the installation, a document reader mounted on the structure in the vicinity of the entrance of the installation, a biometric sensor device mounted on the structure at a predetermined distance from the exit of the installation, and an electronic processor unit connected to the document reader and to the biometric sensor device and arranged to compare reference biometric data contained in the document with biometric characteristics supplied by the sensor device in order to verify that they match, the predetermined distance being sufficient, given the speed at which the walkway moves, to allow the electronic processor device to perform the verification operation before the user concerned reaches the exit of the installation.
