A pole gin including a first portion having a first strap attachment configured to secure the pole gin to a utility pole at a first location and a second portion having a second strap attachment configured to secure the pole gin to the utility pole at a second location spaced from the first location. The first portion and the second portion can be adjustable relative to one another to vary a distance between the first location and the second location.

BOOM SAFE ANTI-TIP SYSTEM
20180222728 · 2018-08-09 ·

An anti-tip system for a lifting machine that includes a boom pivotally attached to a boom pivot joint, boom supporting member that raises or lowers the boom with a load attached to the boom, and a boom supporting member that supports, and transfers forces exerted on the boom to the lift machine's chassis. The system includes a bracket attached to the chassis that includes at least one guide arms and at least one force arm. The guide and force arms are pivotally attached at their proximal ends to the bracket's base and their distal ends converge and pivotally coupled at a common pivot joint that also pivotally connects to the boom support member. The longitudinally axes of the guide and force arms are perpendicularly aligned. When assembled, the extended longitudinal axis of the guide arm passes through the boom pivot joint. A strain gauge is attached to the force arm that measures the force exerted on the force arm.

DECK HOIST AND BASKET FOR USE IN CONSTRUCTION
20180223549 · 2018-08-09 · ·

This invention relates generally to a method for making a deck for use in construction. In one embodiment, the method includes, but is not limited to, positioning a first box tube substantially parallel to a second box tube; attaching a plate to the first box tube and the second box tube, the plate extending between the first box tube and the second box tube; coupling a hydraulic cylinder to the plate; slidably inserting a first extension member at least partially into the first box tube; slidably inserting a second extension member at least partially into the second box tube, the first and second extension members having a beam extending therebetween; coupling the hydraulic cylinder to the beam; positioning a platform having one or more wheels on the plate and over the hydraulic cylinder such that the platform is rollable relative to the plate; attaching the platform to the beam such that the platform is operable to retractably extend beyond an edge of a floor of a building in conjunction with the first and second extension members in response to actuation of the at least one hydraulic cylinder; and forming a rectangular cuboid basket comprised of six faces with a connecting mechanism on a top face.

Construction machine and method for upward and downward movement of a lifting element

The invention relates to a construction machine having a mast and a lifting element which can be moved up and down along the mast with a hoist rope. The hoist rope can be activated by means of two rope winches. At least one first rope winch is designed as a free fall winch, wherein the hoist rope can be lowered in free fall. To lower the hoist rope a controller is provided, with which the first rope winch, which is designed as a free fall winch, can be switched into a free fall mode. Meanwhile, a second rope winch is operated in force-locking manner.

Method for Assembling a Crane and Method for Operating a Crane

A method for assembling a crane that comprises erecting an upright ballast mast with a back mast top slide that is movable along the ballast mast and constructing a back mast using the upright ballast mast. This comprises the steps of providing a back mast upper section, multiple back mast intermediate sections, and a back mast lower section. The method also comprises connecting a part of the back mast including at least the back mast upper section, and possibly further including one or more pre-connected intermediate sections, to the back mast top slide. The part of the back mast that has been connected to the back mast top slide is stepwise extended by attaching further back mast intermediate sections and the back mast lower section. During the extension of the back mast the back mast top slide is stepwise raised along the upright ballast mast.
