Crane vehicle
11772941 · 2023-10-03 · ·

A crane vehicle achieves safe movement by reliably detecting an obstacle in a region which is a blind spot from the opposite side of the driver seat across a boom. The crane vehicle includes an obstacle sensor which is a transmission/reception antenna that transmits a detection wave and receives the detection wave reflected from the obstacle. A signal corresponding to the reflected wave received by the obstacle sensor is amplified and input to a controller, which calculates the position and the size of the obstacle on the basis of the signal. The controller generates an obstacle display image and displays the image on a display, the obstacle display image including a vehicle object that represents a crane vehicle and an obstacle object which is an object corresponding to the calculated size of the obstacle and which is disposed at a position corresponding to the calculated position of the obstacle.

Remotely Operated Crane Control System

Provided is a remote control crane system including a remote crane control center (RCCC) having a remote crane controller (RCC), remote crane controls, and a remote crane control activation system that can be activated/deactivated to enable/disable control of a remote controlled crane system by way of the remote crane controls. The RCC operable to receive, by way of the remote crane controls, a remote control command to cause a given operation by the remote controlled crane system, and, in response to determining that the remote controlled crane activation system is activated, send, to the remote controlled crane system, crane remote control data including a command to cause the given operation by the remote controlled crane system.

Retrofit System and Method for Maintaining Minimum Approach Distance

A system for visually maintaining a predetermined minimum approach distance between load handling equipment and energized electrical equipment includes at least two elongate electrically insulating members that have lengths that correspond to the predetermined minimum approach distance that are mounted to at least a distal end of the load handling equipment so that they extend orthogonally outwardly from the distal end by substantially the predetermined minimum approach distance. One of the insulating members is rotatably mounted using a counterweight so as to be vertical, independent of the orientation of the load handling equipment. In use, when the distal end is in the vicinity of the energized electrical equipment, the insulating members provide visual indication that the predetermined minimum approach is being maintained and is not being encroached. A corresponding method is also described.

Tower crane with a detection of a rotating part autorotation or oscillation state in an out of service configuration
11560293 · 2023-01-24 · ·

A tower crane includes a tower on which a rotating portion is pivotally mounted and configurable between a service configuration in which the rotating portion can be rotatably driven by a motorized orientation system, and an out of service configuration in which the rotating portion is rotatably released to be able to be oriented in the direction of the wind. A control/command unit activates a monitoring mode in the out of service configuration to detect, depending on variations in the angle of orientation or the angular speed of the rotating portion, if the rotating portion is in one of the following movement states: an autorotation state corresponding to a rotary movement of the rotating portion in a given direction over at least one complete turn; or an oscillation state corresponding to a back and forth movement of the rotating portion about the orientation axis.
