A slewing base camera detects a load W that is suspended by a wire rope, the current coordinate location of the load is calculated from the location of the detected load, the current coordinate location of a tip end of a boom is calculated from the position of a crane, a target velocity signal that was inputted from a manipulation tool is converted into a target coordinate location of the load, a wire rope direction vector is calculated from the current coordinate location of the load and the target coordinate location of the load, a target location of the tip end of the boom for the target coordinate location of the load is calculated from a wire rope reel-out amount and the wire rope direction vector, and an actuator operation signal is generated.

TOWER HOIST, PLATFORM AND DAVIT SYSTEM
Hoists, platforms and davits are described as well as methods of securing same to telecommunication and other towers. The hoists, platforms and davits may be secured to the towers on a temporary basis using clamps. The clamps may include brackets and cables. The cables may be attached to the brackets, may wrap around the outer surface/perimeter of the tower pole/leg and may use tension to keep the bracket in place.

A method for securing a luffing jib crane includes: acquiring a lifting/lowering setpoint; piloting a lifting motor by a converter that applies a motor command speed as a function of the setpoint; driving, in lifting or in lowering, the jib by a lifting cable under the action of the lifting motor; calculating, by a control/command system, a lifting/lowering theoretical angular speed from the motor command speed or from the setpoint; calculating, by the control/command system, a lifting/lowering actual angular speed from a jib angle measured by an angle sensor; comparing the actual angular speed and the theoretical angular speed; and commanding the stopping of the lifting motor according to the result of the comparison.
