Urinary incontinence prevention clip for men
A urinary incontinence prevention clip for men includes: a clip body having an upper frame positioned so as to correspond to the upper part of male genitalia, a lower frame positioned so as to correspond to the lower part of the male genitalia, and a connection part connected to one side of the upper frame and the lower frame and providing elastic force in a direction, in which the upper frame and the lower frame are spread; cushion parts respectively provided on the inside of the upper frame and the inside of the lower frame; and locking parts formed at both ends of the clip body so as to be fastened to each other, wherein the upper frame is formed so as not to press the blood vessels of the male genitalia and the lower frame is formed so as to press the urethras of the male genitalia.
URETHRAL ARTIFICIAL SPHINCTER WITH BISTABLE ACTUATION SYSTEM
An artificial sphincter to be implanted in a urethra, for treating patients suffering from urinary incontinence, includes a container configured to be connected to a wall of a urethra, inside or outside it, a valve unit housed within the container and configured to move from a release configuration to a block configuration and vice-versa. An actuation magnet is movably (rotatably or slidably) arranged between a first and a second position in the container, and is connected to the valve unit such that a predetermined (rotation or translation) movement of the actuation magnet from a first towards a second position, or from the second towards the first position, under the effect of an external manoeuvre magnet, brings the valve unit from the release configuration to the block configuration, where the valve is stably maintained, and from the block configuration to the release configuration, where the valve is stably maintained.
Tissue-engineered bowel constructs
Methods are disclosed for forming tissue engineered, tubular bowel constructs from intestinal circular smooth muscle cells and enteric neural progenitor cells. The intestinal smooth muscle cells and neural progenitor cells can be seeded on a mold with a surface texture that induces longitudinal alignment of the intestinal smooth muscle cells and co-cultured until an innervated aligned smooth muscle sheet is obtained. The innervated smooth muscle sheet can then be wrapped around a tubular scaffold to form an intestinal tissue construct.
DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING FECAL INCONTINENCE
The present invention relates to devices for treating or managing fecal or bowel incontinence and methods employing them. In an embodiment, such a device can form a seal with at least a portion of the bowel to prevent unwanted discharge of fecal matter from the rectum.
PET GROOMING AND SKIN CARE TOOL AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE TOOL
A comfortable single-piece male incontinence control device (100) permitting conscious micturition without adjustment or removal of the device (100). The device having a continuous loop of an elastic compression band (110) configured and arranged to securely encircle a flaccid penis P without inflicting penile ischemia, and a bump (120) on the elastic compression band (110) projecting inward into the lumen (119) defined by the band (110) for pressing against and constricting the urethra U of a wearer W.
SPHINCTER ASSIST DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
A sphincter assist device includes a plurality of interconnected and adjacent links which define a ring. Each link includes a body section and a latch cam. The body section includes a first set of side beams and a first set of snap arms. The latch cam includes a post extending from the body section and a cam disposed at an end portion of the post. The cam is engagable with the first set of snap arms of an adjacent link. Translation of the cam displaces the first set of snap arms and the first set of side beams to transition the sphincter assist device between open and closed configurations. The first set of snap arms, in combination with the first set of side beams, exert a positive non-linear force profile on the cam, thus defining a non-linear force profile of the sphincter assist device between the open and closed configurations.
LINKING ELEMENTS FOR IMPLANTABLE SPHINCTER ASSISTANCE DEVICE
An implantable restriction device includes a plurality of beads, a plurality of links joining the beads together, and a parking feature. Each bead in the plurality of beads includes a housing, a passageway extending through the housing, and at least one magnet disposed around the passageway. The plurality of links are slidably disposed in corresponding passageways of the beads such that the plurality of beads can transition between a constricted configuration and an expanded configuration. The parking feature can consistently position the at least one link relative to the housing in the contracted configuration.
COUPLING ASSEMBLY FOR IMPLANTABLE SPHINCTER ASSISTANCE DEVICE
An artificial sphincter and method closing the artificial sphincter includes a plurality of bodies, a plurality of links, a coupling body, and a coupling assembly. The plurality of bodies each have respective magnets and are arranged from a first terminal body to a second terminal body. The plurality of links respectively resiliently extend and connect between the plurality of bodies. The coupling body has a first end segment and a second end segment respectively connected to a first terminal link and a second terminal link respectively extending from the first and second end segments. The coupling assembly has a clasp configured to close to form a closed loop and a coupling guide configured to be manipulated to thereby orient portions of the clasp to a predetermined orientation for connection in the connected state.
Restriction device
A hydraulic implantable restriction device for restricting a luminary organ of a patient. The hydraulic implantable restriction device comprises: a first hydraulic restriction element adapted to restrict a first portion of the luminary organ, and a second hydraulic restriction element adapted to restrict a second portion of the luminary organ, and a control unit adapted to control the first and second restriction elements for automatically switching between restricting the first and second portion of the luminary organ, for creating a less damaging restriction. The control unit is adapted to automatically switch between restricting the first and second portion of the luminary organ on the basis of at least one of: a lapsed time being between 10 minutes and 6 months, and the patient using the function of the restricted luminary organ.
MAGNETIC SPHINCTER AUGMENTATION DEVICE FOR URINARY INCONTINENCE
A sphincter augmentation device includes a plurality of bodies and a flexible band coupled with the bodies. The bodies define a first circumferential portion of the device and are magnetically biased toward one another. The flexible band defines a second circumferential portion of the device such that the bodies are arranged non-axisymmetrically about a central axis of the device. The device is sized to be positioned around a human urethra so that the bodies and the flexible band bear inwardly against the urethra. The device is configured to transition between a radially expanded state and a radially contracted state by the magnetic bias of the bodies to constrict the urethra.
