Pressure equalising piercing device for jars having a screw-top closure
A pressure equalising device (10) which has a squat shape and which has three positions which are a first unlocked and retracted position, a second locked and retracted position, and a third unlocked and extended position wherein the device comprises a spike (14) for piercing a container, a biasing member (12) to bias the device into the first position from the third position, an upper body (20) which supports the spike and which has a locking formation (28), and a lower body (40); wherein the device has a twist lock such that the device can be rotated to and from its first and second positions; wherein the twist lock comprises a slot (52) in the lower body which is positioned to receive the locking formation (28) to immobilise the upper body (20) in relation to the lower body (40); the invention provides an ergonomically acceptable and safe way to reduce the torque force required to open the typical jar to less that 2 Nm by equalising the pressures inside and outside the jar.
Fluid dispensing apparatus and method
A fluid dispenser including a body, a chamber coupled to or formed as part of the body and configured to contain a quantity of fluid, and a piston coupled to the body and rotatable within the chamber to different position. The piston is movable relative to the chamber in a first direction along an axis to draw fluid into the chamber, and the piston is movable relative to the chamber in a second direction opposite the first direction to discharge fluid from the chamber. The piston has stroke lengths that are selectable via the different rotational positions of the piston and that are associated with metered quantities of fluid to be drawn into the chamber. An anti-reversal feature is disposed between the piston and the body. The anti-reversal feature inhibits reversal of the piston during movement of the piston in the first direction or the second direction.
Portable drinking device
A portable drinking device capable of fitting over a typical pressurized beverage can to direct the flow of fluid from the can to a recipient's mouth. The portable drinking device may be positioned over the open top of the can and the can and portable drinking device are slightly tilted sideways. After the can has been punctured on its side, the entire assembly is positioned so that the portable drinking device directs a rapid and steady stream of fluid from the punctured can through the tube of the portable drinking device into a recipient's mouth.
COUPLING DEVICE FOR DISPENSING OF FOOD
The present invention relates to a coupling device (1) for connection to a flexible container (3) comprising a plastic foil for dispense of food product (2) in fluid form out of the same, comprising an outlet valve (10) with a first end comprising at least one hole-creating part (11) for penetration of the container on connection to the same and a through-flow channel (20) which merges into a second end for further transfer of food product.
PUNCTURE DEVICE TO OPEN VACUUM JARS
The present invention provides a lid puncture device having a hemispheric main body, a resilient compressible component, a flexible magnetic disk, and a piercing pin. The hemispheric main body has a domed surface and a flat surface. The flat surface of the main body has a recessed region surrounding a central pillar. The resilient compressible component is housed within and attached to the recessed region of the hemispheric main body. The flexible magnetic disk is attached to the resilient compressible component. The piercing pin is attached to the hemispheric main body and held axially within the central pillar. A process of opening a vacuum-packed jar with the lid puncture device is also provided. The process includes placing the flexible magnetic disk of the lid puncture device onto a lid of the vacuum-packed jar and striking the domed surface.
CAN PIERCING AND STRAINING TOOL
A can piercing device that pierces openings in a can lid to allow the can to allow be used for draining or straining the can contents. The device has a pattern of punch spikes, which, when placed against a side lip of a can and rotated using an attachment hook as a fulcrum, punches a series of openings through a can lid. The series of punched openings creates a strainer to drain the liquid from the can contents before removing the can lid. Can contents can be repeatedly rinsed and drained by adding water through the openings created and draining the liquid. It is also possible to provide the can piercing device with additional features that allow the device to be used as a side cutting can opener, in order to completely remove the can lid, once the draining or straining has taken place.
Can piercing tool
A can piercing tool including an annular ring and a plurality of pointed punches connected to the annular ring, concentric with the annular ring, inside the annular ring, and defining a circular perimeter. The tool includes a handle connected to the annular ring extending away from the annular ring.
Assay Apparatuses, Methods and Reagents
We describe apparatuses, systems, method, reagents, and kits for conducting assays as well as process for their preparation. They are particularly well suited for conducting automated sampling, sample preparation, and analysis in a multi-well plate assay format. For example, they may be used for automated analysis of particulates in air and/or liquid samples derived therefrom in environmental monitoring.
TlP SET
Provided is a tip set used for a genetic testing device. The tip set includes a piercing tip breaking a lid portion of a reagent container filled with a reagent to open the reagent container and an injection tip injecting a sample solution containing a target gene nucleic acid into a microchip. The injection tip has a reservoir storing the sample solution in an internal space and an injection needle protruding from the reservoir, an opening opening the internal space to a side opposite to the injection needle is formed in the reservoir, and the piercing tip has a fitting portion fitted to the injection tip to connect the injection tip and the piercing tip.
Pump bottle access device
A bottle access device comprising a body, a central bore extending partway through the body from a first end, and one or more radial bores extending radially from the central bore through the side of the body. The bores may form a path from outside the body, through the radial bores, through the central bore, and out the first end. The device may be inserted through the wall of a plastic bottle, allowing access to product within the bottle via the bores by squeezing the bottle. The body may be threaded and the second end of the body may be pointed, allowing the device to act as a self-tapping screw for insertion into the wall of the bottle.
