A package including a fitment for dispensing a liquid from a flexible bag is disclosed. The fitment is secured to the bag and includes a compressible bulb and a piercing member that are coupled together. In two embodiments the fitment is configured so that the piercing member pierces through a wall of the bag to dispense the bag's contents through an outlet port of the fitment. One of those embodiments includes a separate valve to open and close the outlet port. Another embodiment does not include a separate valve to open and close the outlet port. A third embodiment makes use of a fitment connected to a filling gland of the bag and which is in communication with the interior of the bag. That third embodiment includes a frangible seal forming part of the fitment and which is pierced by the piercing member to dispense the liquid from the bag.

A device to prevent the drying of nozzles of a machine for the preparation of fluid coloring products having a delivery head includes an anti-drying member and an actuation mechanism to take the anti-drying member from an inactive position distant from the delivery head to an operating position in contact with the delivery head. The actuation mechanism includes an actuation lever oscillating with respect to a fixed support and a group of parallelogram levers commanded by the actuation lever and connected to the anti-drying member so as to keep an upper surface of the anti-drying member constantly parallel to the lower surface of the delivery head during the movement from the inactive position to the operating position.

Systems and methods for mixing, storing, and dispensing pesticides, and guiding a user to an appropriate pest solution, are provided. One pesticide dispensing system includes a portable container comprising an opening configured to receive a pack having a predetermined size and shape, the pack containing a concentrated pesticide. The system further includes a piercing unit to create a hole in the pack for dispensing the pesticide into the container via the opening. Embodiments also include a pest solution selection kiosk comprising a display for displaying a first set of prompts for selection of a pest solution and receiving a touch input representing user selection of a prompt; a processor for identifying second prompts based on the user selection and stored pest solution criteria and identifying a pest solution product based on user-selection of the second prompts. The display presents information about the selected product and/or a dispense option.

A tool and method for puncturing a lid of a vacuum sealed bottle to release the vacuum and allow easy opening. A point extends down from the tool, and force may be exerted against the tool by the palm or thumb of a user causing the point to penetrate the lid. The point preferably extends between 3/16 inches and 1/16 inches down from the handle, and more preferably about 3/16 inches. In some embodiments the tool is mushroom shaped having a wider round or oval upper portion for grasping and a narrower lower portion centered under the upper portion of the handle, the point extending down from the lower portion.

A jetted bag opener separates mixed solid waste from flexible containers such as plastic and paper bags, and includes a housing configured with an ingress and an egress, at least two sets of a plurality of fluid delivery nozzles, where a first set of the nozzles is arranged along a sidewall at a first side of the housing, and a second set of the nozzles is arranged along the sidewall at a second side of the housing opposite the first side, and as fluid is sprayed from the nozzle outlets, the fluid is delivered at a force sufficient to penetrate into the flexible containers passing through the housing to thereby create an opening in the flexible containers for release of the mixed solid waste held therein.

A container top punch apparatus which is suitable for forming an air pressure equalization opening in a beverage or other liquid dispensing container for equalization of air pressure between the interior and exterior of the container may include an apparatus housing. A punch assembly may include a punch shaft slidably disposed in the apparatus housing. The punch shaft may be retractable in a pre-punching position in the apparatus housing and extendable from the apparatus housing to a punching position. A punch spring may be disposed in the apparatus housing. The punch spring may apply a punching force to the punch shaft and normally bias the punch shaft in the punching position. A finger lever may engage the punch shaft. The finger lever may be operable to facilitate digital retention of the punch shaft in the pre-punching position and digital release of the punch shaft for deployment of the punch shaft from the pre-punching position to the punching position via the punching force, responsive to operation of the punch spring.

An apparatus for making a mixed drink includes a housing, a first container, a second container, a first opening mechanism for opening the first container, a second opening mechanism for opening the second container, a chamber with an outlet, a water reservoir, and a pump. The first container holds a concentrate and the second container holds an alcohol.

A ribbed spike for use with dispensing a fluid, such a water, from a bag. The spike includes a plurality of ribs or undulations on its outer surface which can improve connection strength to a bag of fluid. Systems and methods for using such a spike in the dispensing of fluid in a variety of situations are also provided.

The present invention relates to a kit, comprising: at least one capsule (10) for insertion in a beverage production machine and containing nutritional ingredients, preferably infant formula ingredients, the capsule having a cup-like base body (10b) comprising an opening (11) being closed off by an outlet face (10c), and at least one capsule opening device (1) provided separately to the capsule (10), the capsule (10) and the opening device (1) being provided with means for mechanically associating the opening device (1) to the capsule (10) by the consumer, preferably without using tools, the capsule opening device (1) comprising an integrally formed opening member (2) arranged to be operated by a user and designed for opening said outlet face (10c) of the capsule (10).

An apparatus for making a mixed drink includes a housing, a first single-serve beverage container, a second single-serve beverage container, an opening mechanism for opening the single-serve beverage containers, a chamber with an outlet, a water reservoir, and a pump. The first container holds a concentrate and the second container holds an alcohol. The chamber has an inlet for receiving the contents of the first and second containers and further includes an outlet. The water reservoir is positioned in the housing. The pump is coupled to the water reservoir for transferring water to the vicinity of the first and second containers. Water from the reservoir enters the chamber directly and/or through one or more of the containers.
