A dispensing system includes a liquid dispensing tap, an associated measuring cap/cup and a cap adapter or holder which is removably received onto the tap and which in turn removably receives the cap/cup. The dispensing tap, adapter/holder and cap/cup are configured such that the holder and cap/cup are assembled with the tap prior to installation onto a container, and stay assembled with the tap during installation onto the container at the filling line, and which can later be removed for use and then selectively reattached to the tap or container after use by the consumer.

An accelerometer in the device determines the vertical direction and the angle between the vertical direction and the longitudinal axis of the bottle. Another accelerometer measures the force exerted by the bottle in the direction of the longitudinal axis. These parameters are used to calculate the total mass and volume of the upturned bottle. A dimmable screen displays the total mass, total volume, change in mass and/or change in volume.

A metered dispensing device for plant extracts is provided. The device includes a main body having an inner volume for holding plant extract, a rotatable dial operably coupled on an end of the main body, a dispensing end located on an end of the main body opposite the rotatable dial, and a dispensing tip coupled to the dispensing end. The device also includes a dispensing mechanism including a plunger moveable along the length of the main body in response to rotation of the dial. The plunger pushes plant extract from the inner volume out the dispensing tip. The device also includes a feedback system providing tactile and audible feedback after a predetermined amount of plant extract has been dispensed through the dispensing tip.

WATER DISPENSING SYSTEM

A refrigerator water dispenser includes a shelf having a lower surface. A water dispenser tube is disposed adjacent to the shelf for dispensing water into a container. An actuator support is operably coupled to the lower surface of the shelf. A load cell is disposed on the actuator support, wherein the load cell sends a signal in response to movement by the actuator support. A controller is operably coupled to the load cell, wherein the controller activates a water dispensing sequence to dispense water via the water dispenser tube in response to the signal from the load cell.

A laundry system for dispensing one or more ingredient compositions from ingredient reservoirs for supplying to a washing machine drum, the laundry system comprising: (i) an apparatus which comprises a dispensing device and multiple ingredient reservoirs; (ii) said multiple ingredient reservoirs containing the various ingredient compositions in controllable fluid communication with the dispensing device and each ingredient reservoir comprising at least one ingredient reservoir identifier; (iii) said dispensing device being operable to selectively dispense portions of the ingredient compositions from respective ingredient reservoirs as a result of commands by the user to provide a dose of laundry product, and further comprising (iv) an ingredient reservoir control system for controlling said selective dispensing of respective ingredient compositions from specific ingredient reservoirs identified by respective ingredient reservoir identifiers such that the device can selectively dispense ingredient compositions from one or more identified ingredient reservoirs wherein the or each ingredient reservoir identifier comprises a data carrier for storing data regarding the condition of the ingredient reservoir and the ingredient reservoir control system is operative to modify the data stored on the data carrier.
