System and method of manufacturing suspension seating
A method of manufacturing suspension seating includes providing a blank to be used in a suspension member. The blank has a non-visible marker. The method also includes illuminating the non-visible marker with an excitation source. The non-visible marker becomes detectable when illuminated by the excitation source. The method further includes sensing the non-visible marker with a sensor. The sensor is configured to detect the non-visible marker when illuminated by the excitation source. The method also includes determining, by a controller, a characteristic of the blank using the non-visible marker. The controller is in communication with the sensor and configured to receive information related to the non-visible marker from the sensor. The method further includes adjusting the blank to achieve the desired characteristic.
Upholstery systems and methods for forming a curved surface
An upholstery system for forming a curved furniture surface includes two surfaces that form a corner, two planar elements that are each positioned on one of the two surfaces, and a plurality of contoured elements positioned between the two planar elements and along the corner. Each of the plurality of contoured elements includes a curved surface. The system also includes at least one piece of fabric that includes at least three sections, which are connected to each other in a series such that adjacent sections form a connection portion. The system further includes a plurality of clips positioned on each of the two surfaces. The at least three sections of the at least one piece of fabric are positioned over the planar elements and the plurality of contoured elements. The connected portion of adjacent sections of the at least one piece of fabric is connected to the plurality of clips.
Conveyance seat and seat cover for the same
A conveyance seat may include a seat pad, a first recess and a second recess formed in the seat pad. The first recess may have a pad-side engaging member disposed therein. The second recess may have no pad-side engaging member disposed therein. The conveyance seat may include a seat cover configured to cover the seat pad, the seat cover including a plurality of cover pieces, a first stitched portion and a second stitched portion projecting from the seat cover. At the first and second stitched portions, adjacent cover pieces may meet. The first stitched portion may have a cover-side engaging member configured to engage the pad-side engaging member. The second stitched portion may have no cover-side engaging member and may intersect with the first stitched portion at an intersection point. The conveyance seat may include a reinforcement member attached to the second stitched portion and bestriding the intersection point.

System and method for forming a foundation truss
A system and method for forming a foundation truss for a box spring or mattress foundation frame includes a first truss rail assembly station having a series of block feeders, a top rail hopper and a filler strip hopper that received stacks of truss components such as blocks, top rails and filler strips and feed such truss components into stacked registration. The stacked truss components are moved into engagement with a series of staplers that secure the filler strips, top rails and blocks together to form first truss rail portions, which are then fed to a second truss rail assembly station where a bottom rail is automatically applied thereto.
