Cushions including a coated elastomeric cushioning element and related methods
A cushion includes a cushioning element and a coating material provided on a surface of the cushioning element. The cushioning element includes an elastomeric material forming a plurality of intersecting buckling walls defining a plurality of hollow columns in an expanded form. The coating material includes stearic acid, a metal stearate, propylene glycol, and triethanolamine. The cushioning element is configured to be compressed, such as by a roll-packing machine, into the compressed form and subsequently released from the compressed form to transform to the expanded form. Methods of forming the cushion include forming the cushioning element comprising an elastomeric material, coating a surface of the cushioning element with the coating material, and compressing the cushioning element into a compressed form.

Cushion
The present invention discloses a cushion, which includes: a cushion core adopting blasted sponge, the blasted sponge is 20 g/cm.sup.3 to 35 g/cm.sup.3 in density and 10 ppi to 60 ppi in pore diameter; and an outer cover layer wrapping the outer layer of the cushion core; and the outer cover layer adopts a fiber material which is of a reticular structure. The novel cushion designed by the present invention, which adopts the blasted sponge structure that is 20 g/cm.sup.3 to 35 g/cm.sup.3 in density and 10 ppi to 60 ppi in pore diameter, is convenient to wash directly with water and has super air permeability.
Seat with ventilative property
To provide a seat with ventilative property, which can eliminate or minimize the possibility of its being permanently deformed and settled into an unrecoverable deformed state. In the seat with ventilative property, left and right three-dimensional network cushion elements are provided in a forwardly-facing region of a seat cushion of the seat, in a manner independent of each other, such that the left and right three-dimensional network cushion elements are respectively situated at: one location on which a left thigh portion of a seat occupant is to be contacted; and the other location on which a right thigh portion of the seat occupant is to be contacted. This arrangement can almost completely prevent a direct application of a weight of the seat occupant to the two three-dimensional network cushion elements. Therefore, the present invention has the effect that a permanent downward settling of the seat cushion SC can be prevented, so that a short life of the seat due to such permanent settling may be substantially avoided.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING A CUSHION MAT AND CUSHION MAT MANUFACTURED THEREWITH
A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a cushion mat and a cushion mat thus manufactured are disclosed. An apparatus for manufacturing a cushion mat may include: a lower mold that has a cavity formed in its upper surface and is configured to receive a first sheet and a inner filler sequentially, where the first sheet may be disposed such that a boundary of the first sheet is exposed at a periphery part of the cavity; an upper mold that is configured to heat-seal the first sheet and a second sheet onto both sides of the inner filler by mating with the lower mold while the second sheet is disposed between the upper mold and the inner filler; and air suction nozzles that are disposed at the periphery part of the cavity of the lower mold to remove residual air from between the second sheet and the inner filler.
Pillow with buckling columns
A pillow includes a first pillow cushion consisting essentially of a gelatinous elastomer that is sized and configured to support a head and neck of a person using the pillow cushion and a second pillow cushion coupled thereto. The pillow cushion has deformable wall members located and configured to define voids therebetween such that the deformable wall members may be displaced into adjacent voids upon deformation of the deformable wall members. The deformable wall members are configured to buckle when a pressure applied to a cushioning surface of the first pillow cushion, in a direction perpendicular to a first major surface, exceeds a threshold pressure level. A pillow cover covers the first pillow cushion and the second pillow cushion. A method of fabricating a pillow includes enclosing such first and second pillow cushions in a pillow cover.
