BLADDER COLLECTION SYSTEM
Disclosed herein is a bladder collection system. Particularly, a bladder collection system for females is disclosed. The system is designed to be flexible and useful in upright or mobile situations. The bladder relief system includes a collection interface sized and configured for seated or standing application, a sleeve, defining a collection opening, and sidewalls defining a collection cavity, an interface tubing, extending from one end of the sleeve to another, between a collection end of the interface tubing, and an exit port for connection to an exit hose; and an adsorbing material contained within the collection cavity.
Valve system for inflatable devices
Valves and valve systems are provided that are useful for integration with inflatable indwelling medical devices to prevent over-inflation of retention balloon.
Enteric fistula, rectovaginal fistula, and ostomy effluent containment system, and devices and methods thereof
A skin-safe effluent containment system that may be used to contain fluid leakage from openings in the body of a patient and will adhere to skin in any condition: healthy or injured, wet or dry, smooth, scarred, or uneven. Fluid leakage can occur from natural orifices such as the anus and vagina, spontaneously formed enteric fistulas, rectovaginal fistulas, and surgical openings such as ileostomy and colostomy stomas. The system includes a vacuum-adherent pouch device, comprised of a pouch connected to a porous foam ring which has an air-permeable contact layer on its bottom surface and an air seal on its top surface. The inner and outer perimeters of the foam ring are enclosed and sealed with skin-adhesive materials. When placed on the patient, negative pressure (vacuum) is applied to the foam ring so that the foam collapses and compresses the vacuum-adherent pouch device down against the patient's skin. Negative pressure in combination with the adhesive materials on the perimeters of the foam ring forms a fluid barrier around the opening in the body of the patient so that leakage can be directed into the pouch and drawn away to a separate effluent container.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REDUCING URINARY RETENTION
A device to facilitate urination by a male includes a vessel having a contact surface area at and adjacent a top edge of the vessel configured to be placed in contact with the penis. The contact surface area includes a thermally conductive material and has a shape configured to reduce pressure requirements for urination from a standing position as compared with urinating into a toilet from a standing position. A method of reducing urinary retention in a male includes contacting the penis of the male with a contact surface area of a device, which may be as described above, and urinating while the male is in a standing position with the penis in contact with the contact surface area, wherein the contact surface area comprises a thermally conductive material and is at an initial temperature at least 14° F. lower than a temperature of the penis.
FLUID COLLECTION SYSTEM INCLUDING A CLEANING SYSTEM AND METHODS
A fluid collection system may include a fluid collection assembly configured to receive urine from a user, a container configured to sore the urine collected from the fluid collection assembly, a collection tube disposed between the fluid collection assembly and the container, and a bi-directional pump. The fluid collection system operates in a first configuration to draw urine from the fluid collection assembly into the container and a second configuration to drain the urine and clean the fluid collection system.
FECAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Fecal management methods and apparatuses (e.g., devices, systems, etc.) are described herein. The fecal management apparatuses may apply one or more fecal removal cycles of suction and irrigation (and in some examples air) to actively remove fecal material. The apparatus may control the timing of delivery of the fecal removal cycles as well as the parameters of the applied suction, irrigation and/or air within and between fecal removal cycles. The invention additionally provides methods, and computer program products for controlling an apparatus or system that is configured for removal of fecal material from a patient's rectum.
MENSTRUAL CUP
A menstrual cup is capable of having various sizes customizedly selected according to the characteristics of women's vaginas having different sizes by providing an upper restoring ring having a diameter larger than the diameter of a restoring ring provided on a flexible cup, so that if the menstrual cup is inserted into a wearer's vagina to cause her to feel painful because it is bigger than her vagina, the upper restoring ring is removed, and next, the menstrual cup with the restoring ring smaller than the upper restoring ring is inserted into the vagina, thereby achieving pain removal and safe and convenient collection of menstrual blood and perfectly preventing the initial reluctance of women in the use of the menstrual cup in spite of many advantages the menstrual cup has had.
SMALL VOLUME LIQUID SAMPLER
A device for sampling an initial volume of a liquid flow is disclosed which comprises an inlet conduit, an outlet conduit, and valve casing. The valve casing has a passageway formed therethrough. A sample outlet extends through the valve casing and into the passageway. A valve structure is arranged for axial movement in the valve casing. A gate of the valve structure obstructs the passageway and prevents an initial volume of the liquid flow from being transferred to the outlet conduit when the valve structure is moved to a sampling position. A stem of the valve structure obstructs the sample outlet without obstructing the passageway when the valve structure is moved to a diverting position. At least one elongated groove is formed in a surface of the gate and extends into the stem such that the initial volume is directed through the sample outlet and towards a receptacle when the valve structure is moved to the sampling position. A lifting member moves the valve structure from the sampling position to the diverting position.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR RECEIVING DISCHARGED URINE
A device suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person may include a receptacle and an elongate member. The receptacle can define a volume and include one or more channels and a passage. The one or more channels can direct the flow of urine to a collection region proximal to the passage. The passage can be used to extract urine from the device by coupling a vacuum pump to the passage and applying a negative pressure. The elongate member can include a distal end and a proximal end. A curved portion of the elongate member can be formed between the distal and proximal ends. The curved portion can be positioned between the thighs of the user and proximal to a perineum of the user to retain the device in a fixed position relative to the user.
