Methods of Improving Hygiene, and Articles and Kits for Use in the Same
The invention relates to methods of improving hygiene in human subjects by discouraging contact between the hands and face. The method uses a hand covering article such as a glove which is typically coated in an irritant such as chili, whereby when the face is touched an unpleasant sensation occurs. The hand covering article is typically worn for prolonged periods to train the subject to avoid subconsciously touching the face. Kits containing the hand covering articles as well as compositions containing irritants for forming the articles are also disclosed.

ORTHOTIC DEVICE TO MAINTAIN OR ENLARGE AN ORAL APERTURE
An orthotic device for treating microstomia is described that includes a U-shaped rod, a pair of conformers, and a spring coiled around the rod, positioned between the conformers. The rod includes a curved portion between two straight arms and is sized to accommodate the subject's head. The pair of conformers each include a labial hook and a pair of through holes for receiving the U-shaped rod. The U-shaped rod is smooth through holes of each conformer positioned at the curved portion proximate to a corresponding one of the straight arms. The labial hooks each curve away from the curved portion towards one of the straight arms of the U-shaped rod. During use the labial hooks are inserted in the subject's mouth to engage one of the opposing labial commissures of the mouth. A compression of the spring applies a force to the labial commissures via the conformers.
Wrist guard
The present invention relates to a wrist guard and provides a wrist guard that does not pressurize the entire wrist portion but allows for pressurizing only the radius portion and the ulna portion, thereby not only performing a wrist protection function in a stable manner, but also not hindering blood circulation since other portions of the wrist are not pressurized, and thus may be conveniently used since side-effects such as hand numbness or hand swelling do not occur even when wearing same for a long period, and the position and thickness of a pressurizing pad for pressurizing the radius portion and the ulna portion of the wrist may be adjusted according to the needs of a user, and thus the wrist guard may be more conveniently used since same may be altered into an optimal state according to physical conditions of the user or environmental conditions.
DENTAL DEVICE
Method for manufacturing a dental expander having a first attachment member intended to be fixed to a first fixation tooth of a patient and an active member rigidly connected to the first attachment member. The method includes: a) generating a three-dimensional digital model of a dental arch having the fixation tooth or “arch model”; b) using the arch model as a basis for generating: a three-dimensional digital model of the first attachment member, wherein the model of the first attachment member that has an inner surface that substantially reproduces a part of the surface of the first fixation tooth, and/or a three-dimensional digital model of the active member; and c) using the model of the first attachment member as a basis for manufacturing the first attachment member and/or using the model of the active member as a basis for generating the active member.
THUMB SUCKING DETERRENT SYSTEM
A thumb sucking deterrent system comprising a tag configured to be removably fitted inside mouth of a child. The tag comprises a tag antenna which is anatomically shaped to correspond to sections of a child's dentition and an integrated circuit chip which is conductively mounted to the tag antenna. A wearable tag reader adapted to be worn on a part of a forearm of the child is provided. The tag reader comprises a transceiver module, a control module and an alarm module. The alarm module is configured to initiate alert actions when the control module determines an actual distance between the tag and the tag reader to be within a predefined range based on a reply signal generated by the tag in response to a first interrogation signal generated by the transceiver module. The distal ends of the tag antenna are structured to be secured to teeth of the child.
