The invention relates to a rotary evaporator (1) which is designed for the automatic execution of decompression steps during an overall process, in particular during distillation. With the decompression steps (III) to (VI), a complete removal of residual portions of condensed distillate at the inlet connection (71) of the intermediate valve (7) and in the condenser (5) of the rotary evaporator (1) can be accomplished. The rotary evaporator (1) has an electronic control module (9) which is designed and programmed to automatically carry out the decompression steps and other process steps with the rotary evaporator (1).

A device for purifying water by solar power is described. The device has bottom and top sections, each being half-cylinders contacting one another along a flat edge to provide an elongated cylinder. The bottom section has an evacuated area with an optically transparent bottom surface that light can pass through to heat a liquid tray in the top section. A side-gutter directs water that condenses on an interior surface of the top section to an output port for collection.

The only other portal of the cooling region is a bottom portal such that though there is vacuum suction, vapors only exit through the bottom portal after condensing and falling through an outer section while dry air is pulled upwards to an upper vacuum portal.

A rotary evaporator includes a sample flask having a reservoir for receiving a sample and a neck in communication with the reservoir. The neck extends along an axis and a purge tube extends within the neck of the sample flask along the axis. The purge tube includes a distal end and at least one opening formed in the purge tube at the distal end, the distal end being closed. Purge gas is supplied to the purge tube and injected into the sample flask via the at least one opening. The purge tube is movable along the axis via an actuator, between a retracted position, where the distal end of the purge tube is situated in the neck of the sample flask, and an extended position, where the distal end of the purge tube is situated in the reservoir of the sample flask.

The distillation flasks are connected in sequence and rotated along the same axis. A bracket is disposed at the lower part between the distillation flasks for support. Instead of one rotation axis, at least two axes are included. Each rotation axis is provided with at least one distillation flask. The number of condensers and the number of collecting flasks increase correspondingly with the number of distillation flasks. If the number of distillation flasks on one rotation axis is greater than 1, a connector is disposed between the condenser and a transmitter. The collecting flask can be changed into a collector with the function of accurately quantitating and discharging distillates. Each distillation flask may be connected to a concentrated liquid quantitative assembly.

Raw plant material is mixed with ethanol under pressure to extract essential elements. The resulting crude oil and ethanol with the dissolved essential elements is separated from the raw plant material and filtered to remove particulates, waxes, lipids, fats and dissolved impurities. The ethanol is then evaporated from the resulting mixture of crude oil and ethanol, and the remaining crude oil then undergoes decarboxylation and distillation to obtain the essential elements. The ethanol may be chilled before adding it to the raw plant material.
