The present disclosure provides improved technologies relating to medical fluid heating systems and apparatus. In certain embodiments, the present disclosure relates to systems and apparatus for heating a fluid and, more particularly, for quickly and controllably heating a flow of blood or a blood product, for example, for infusion into a patient or for hyperthermia treatment. In particular, in a first aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a system and apparatus featuring single flow path fluid heating (single path flow). Moreover, in a second aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a system, apparatus, and related method for efficiently utilizing the thermal energy of an infusate stored in a reservoir (slack time heating). Furthermore, in a third aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a fluid heating system and apparatus featuring a vacuum release valve designed to prevent the undesired orientation of deformed inflow tubing (vacuum release valve).

Fluid warming device

A fluid warming device for warming fluids and delivering the fluids to a patient comprises an electrical heating component, a temperature sensor, and a control unit. The electrical heating component warms fluid passing through a fluid-carrying tube and may be positioned along the fluid-carrying tube at a desired location or embedded in the fluid-carrying tube while the control unit is positioned such that the display and user inputs are accessible to a caregiver. The control unit activates the electrical heating component until the fluid-carrying tube is warmed to a desired temperature within a Thermal Neutral Zone (TNZ) as sensed by the temperature sensor.

Warming system with sensor

An air hose includes a corrugated flexible hose. The air hose also includes a first hose end section mechanically coupled to the corrugated flexible hose. The first hose end section includes a pressure sensor communicatively coupled to a warming unit. The first hose end section is configured to releasably couple to a pneumatic convective device. The air hose also includes a second hose end section mechanically coupled to the corrugated flexible hose. The second hose end section is configured to couple to the warming unit.

CONTAINER FOR FLUIDS AND APPARATUS FOR TEMPERATURE CONTROL, E.G. WARMING, OF MEDICAL FLUIDS
20240042111 · 2024-02-08 ·

A container for warming fluids comprises an inlet port, an outlet port, a fluid conduit configured for fluidly communicating the inlet and outlet ports, and deflection sections. The fluid conduit has a non-constant maximum width in a direction of fluid flow through the fluid conduit. The deflection sections further comprise an entry section and an exit section, each respective exit section being arranged downstream, in the direction of fluid flow, from each respective entry section. The maximum width of the fluid conduit decreases along the direction of fluid flow through the entry section over a first distance and the maximum width of the fluid conduit increases along the direction of fluid flow through the exit section over a second, different distance. A blood treatment apparatus including the above-described container is also provided.

SKIN CARE METHOD OF SKIN BEAUTY DEVICE
20240042199 · 2024-02-08 ·

The skin care method of skin beauty device according to the present invention can lower the skin barrier by charging negative potential to skin through mist spraying, expand pores and reproduce the skin through temperature stimulation and irradiation of red light after cleaning wastes from inside the pores, and more effectively enable cosmetics to be introduced into the skin through EP function and vibration function. Furthermore, the skin care procedures can be finished by implementing the pore shrinkage through cooling stimulation and antimicrobial action through blue light irradiation. The more efficient skin care can be realized through adequate implementation of thus-mentioned series of skin care functions according to the order, compared to individual implementations of various functions of the skin beauty device, whereby users not accustomed to the skin care can easily care the skin.

LOW PROFILE FORCED-AIR BLANKET

The invention includes a forced-air blanket for providing a profusion of air to a patient, comprising a bottom layer with a plurality of openings configured to allow a profusion of air to pass through the bottom layer and an upper layer bonded to the bottom layer around a periphery, wherein the upper layer is also bonded to bottom layer by a plurality of linear seals and a plurality of staked seals. In an embodiment, at least one of more of the linear seals have one end which is joined to a portion of the periphery. In another embodiment, the forced-air blanket may further include at least one elongated seal that is positioned proximate to the inlet. The arrangement of the plurality of staked seals, elongated seals and linear seals assists in providing a blanket that is of a low-profile with even air distribution.

Brain Cooling Method and Portable Device
20190343678 · 2019-11-14 · ·

A noninvasive, brain cooling method and device for cerebral cooling via a patient's nasopharyngeal cavity, is described. Thermal conductive nasal prongs are inserted into a nasal cavity and are cooled by thermoelectric cooling elements. An outward air driving fan inside the device drives a cold air current through the nasal and oral cavities. Heat transfer between the cold air and the surface of the nasal cavity cools the nasal cavity, which in turn, cools a patient's brain. Real-time temperature sensing data provides feedback for closed-loop cooling control.
