Dynamic plate pack for soil extrusion system
An extrusion system for separating particulates entrained in wash water, e.g. from harvesting tuberous produce, includes a settling tank configured to receive a flow of particulated water. A diffuser suspended within the tank converts the flow of particulated water into multiple transverse flows to avoid churning settled particulates. A particulate filter fixed within the tank includes a central channel surrounded by a cylindrical array of cantilevered parallel vertical blades. The channel directs the flows below the blades, causing dynamic movement of the blades as the particulated water rises therebetween to trap particulates along boundary layers, promote particulate settling by gravity, and allow clarified water to rise to the top of the tank. A sensor detects settled particulate reaching a predetermined setpoint, and in response the system actuates an auger and opens a pinch valve to force concentrated particulate from the bottom of the tank.
Gravitational separator providing enhanced contaminant separation
A gravitational separator for a drainage system includes a collection cavity within which drainwater is collected. The collection cavity includes an exit; and a baffle is strategically arranged within the collection cavity for isolating a boundary region of the cavity interior from the central region thereof and for directing the flow of drainwater which moves through the boundary region along a desired flow path. In addition, an outlet control structure is disposed over the mouth of the exit and includes a sidewall having an opening through which drainwater which enters the mouth of the exit must enter so that as the drainwater enters the sidewall opening and moves into the mouth of the exit opening, the direction of flow of the drainwater is altered through at least 90 degrees.
CLARIFICATION OF COLLOIDAL SUSPENSIONS
A process mechanically breaks colloidal suspension bonds with the surrounding fluids through high energy impact with a stationary plate or a colliding fluid stream. The fluid with a colloidal suspension is pumped through one or more to 3 nozzles to collide with either a stationary plate in an impact chamber at high velocity, another similar or different fluid stream, or both another fluid stream and an impact plate. The process breaks the bonds maintaining the colloidal suspension, disassociates these materials, and allows for gravity or chemical separation of the previously colloidal particles from the fluid. The process can separate colloidal particles from a liquid medium through pressurization followed by high energy impact and rapid release.
Methods for treatment and purification of oil and gas produced water
A method of treating oil and gas produced water may include: receiving produced water from one or more wells; separating an aqueous portion of the produced water from oil and solids included in the produced water in order to provide recovered water; performing anaerobic bio-digestion of organic matter included in the produced water using a biomass mixture of anaerobic bacteria obtained from a plurality of wells; aerating the recovered water in order to promote metal precipitation; and performing aerobic bio-digestion of organic matter present in the recovered water. Some embodiments may also include one or more of anoxic equalization, filtration, pasteurization, reverse osmosis, and biocide treatment of the recovered water. The recovered water may be used for oil and gas well fracking and/or land and stream application. Other methods of treating oil and gas produced water are also described.
FINE GRIT CLASSIFIER
A fine grit classifier for removing grit from a milk of lime slurry includes a settling tank for receiving the milk of lime slurry, means for creating turbulence inside the tank to promote grit settling, a launder for collecting milk of lime slurry from an upper portion of the settling tank and directing milk of lime slurry to an outlet, and an auger for transporting settled grit from the lower portion of the settling tank and discharging the settled grit.
Filter Containing Flow Disrupter
A filter for removing particles held in suspension by a fluid. The filter includes (a) a manifold having an inlet and an outlet; and (b) a main filter body connected to the manifold. The main filter body includes a flow disrupter, the flow disrupter comprising a tiered plate assembly arranged in the filter body and each plate in the tiered plate assembly comprises an arrangement of apertures. The inlet of the manifold, the tiered plate assembly, the outlet of the manifold and a bottom of the main filter body define a flow path for fluid to be treated.
REMOVAL DEVICE
A removal device for removing gas bubbles and/or dirt particles from a liquid in a liquid conduit system or for removing a second liquid from a first liquid in the conduit system includes a main channel for a main flow, a housing which defines an inner space, at least one supply channel extending from the main channel to the inner space, at least one return channel extending from the inner space back to the main channel, directly or indirectly via a return chamber, at least one quiet zone in the inner space in which in use the liquid has a substantially smaller velocity than in the main channel. The quiet zone is configured to allow dirt particles or a relatively heavy liquid to settle at a lower end of the housing and/or gas bubbles or a relatively light liquid to rise to an upper end of the housing.
Device for limiting vortices and solid deposits
Downflow hydrocarbon liquid device having a cylindrical upper part, a frustoconical lower part, an outlet pipe and a vortex-limiting system or vortex-breaker, with at least one flat blade and a hydrocarbon feedstocks conversion method employing the device.
Diffuser and solids collection and measurement system for use in conjunction with oil and gas wells
A diffuser and solids collection system includes an enclosure including an input for receiving from a petroleum well a stream of fluid carrying solids. A set of baffles within the enclosure reduces the velocity of the stream of fluid. A solids collector in fluid communication with the enclosure receives the stream of fluid after the reduction in the velocity of the fluid by the set of baffles. A weighing system coupled to the solids collector for weighing the collected solids.
Dual screen treatment systems with debris ramps and screened deflectors
Vaults, boxes, systems, and methods of treatment systems to capture pollutants from storm water runoff and prevent the conveyance of these pollutants from entering a receiving water body or landscape area, which is designed to be a part of a local permanent storm water drainage infrastructure. A single treatment box, vault and system combines both drainage conveyance, multi-level treatment techniques, variable hydraulic capabilities, and easy and inexpensive methods for servicing the system. A flow spreader having a triangular shape with straight sides, or concave sides or convex sides can split incoming water to pass into dual screen filtration systems. Additionally, an upwardly angled debris ramp above a downwardly angled screened defector can be located on both sides of the flow spreader to help direct debris and trash into dual screened boxes. The system can also include components selected from a shelf beneath the spreader, at least one baffle, skimmer, deflectors, media filtration and hydroslide water pressure lines with spray heads for cleaning debris on a sloped floor.
