PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR WATER TREATMENT

A process for treating water contaminated with refractory organic matter, such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs), comprising the following steps: (a) lowering the pH of the water for hydrolysis of organic matter; (b) subjecting the water with lowered pH to catalytic reduction by zero valent iron for organic matter degradation; (c) optionally aerating the water to oxidise the iron to ferric hydroxide; (d) optionally clarifying the water; and (e) optionally a catalytic advanced oxidation step. A system for conducting the process is also disclosed.

A flotation apparatus for separating oil from a dispersion containing water as a continuous phase and oil as a dispersed phase. The apparatus comprises a vessel having one or more longitudinal cell sections in its longitudinal direction, at least one of the one or more longitudinal cell sections comprising: an underflow weir, an overflow weir displaced downstream from the underflow weir, a gas injection structure located below the underflow weir or in the channel formed between the underflow weir and the overflow weir, a removal structure for removing a fraction formed during the operation of the flotation apparatus on the liquid level from the liquid level, and a hydraulic structure for hydraulically pushing the fraction formed during the operation of the flotation apparatus on the liquid level into the removal structure using a liquid stream, a liquid/gas stream and/or a gas stream that is ejected by the hydraulic structure.

DYNAMIC PLATE PACK FOR SOIL EXTRUSION SYSTEM

An extrusion system for separating particulates entrained in wash water, e.g. from harvesting tuberous produce, includes a settling tank configured to receive a flow of particulated water. A diffuser suspended within the tank converts the flow of particulated water into multiple transverse flows to avoid churning settled particulates. A particulate filter fixed within the tank includes a central channel surrounded by a cylindrical array of cantilevered parallel vertical blades. The channel directs the flows below the blades, causing dynamic movement of the blades as the particulated water rises therebetween to trap particulates along boundary layers, promote particulate settling by gravity, and allow clarified water to rise to the top of the tank. A sensor detects settled particulate reaching a predetermined setpoint, and in response the system actuates an auger and opens a pinch valve to force concentrated particulate from the bottom of the tank.

TURBIDITY REMOVAL SYSTEM FOR AN APPLIANCE

A particulate separating mechanism for an appliance includes a fluid inlet that receives an inlet fluid. The inlet fluid includes particulate matter. A labyrinth separator is positioned to generate a first turbulence of the fluid. The first turbulence separates a first portion of the particulate matter into a particulate collection portion. A main filter is positioned downstream of the labyrinth separator and has a constricting portion and opposing turbulence chambers that are vertically oriented to produce a second turbulence of the fluid. The second turbulence separates a second portion of the particulate matter from the fluid. A fluid outlet delivers the fluid having the first and second portions of the particulate matter removed into a processing chamber for processing articles.

A lamella for a clarifier formed by a rectangular or square plate, the upper edge and the lower edge of which run parallel to a transverse direction, the two remaining edges running parallel to a longitudinal direction, the plate being provided with longitudinal folds curved in the longitudinal direction and running from the upper edge to the lower thereof; the plate being curved longitudinally, so that the area closer to the lower edge of the plate is less inclined relative to the horizontal than the area closer to the upper edge.

SETTLER WITH A SETTLER PLATE THAT INCLUDES A HOLLOW SUPPORT

The present disclosure relates to settler plates for a plate settler. The settler plates generally include a hollow support with a hollow interior to receive clarified liquid from a flow channel between adjacent settler plates. An orifice is formed through the hollow support to direct clarified liquid from the flow channel into the hollow interior. The orifice can be positioned such that clarified liquid can flow upwardly out of the flow channel and downwardly through the orifice into the hollow interior. The hollow support can be integrally formed with the settler plate. For example, the hollow support can be formed by bending a tab extending from an end of the settler plate. The tab can be bent into a hollow support with a cross section that is generally polygonal.

Inlet diverter

Methods of separating a multiphase mixture are provided. The multiphase flow can include petrochemicals. The multiphase flow is flowed through a vane assembly having a plurality of curved passages. The multiphase mixture is gradually decelerated such that it collides with surfaces of the vane assembly at relatively oblique angles and at lower relative speeds. Such a configuration can reduce droplet breakup which, in turn, can preserve larger droplet sizes that are more likely to settle to a liquid bed below the inlet diverter due to gravity.

The present disclosure relates to settling devices for separating particles from a bulk fluid with applications in numerous fields. The particle settling devices of the present disclosure may include a stack of truncoconical cones that may be arranged in opposite orientation, apex to base. Other embodiments include several concentric vertical tubes attached to conical surfaces at the bottom, with inclined settling strips attached to the vertical tubes in annular regions between the tubes. These devices are useful for separating small (millimeter or micron sized) particles from a bulk fluid with applications in numerous fields, such as biological (microbial, mammalian, plant, insect or algal) cell cultures, solid catalyst particle separation from a liquid or gas and waste water treatment.

Gas-tight low gravity separation device

A method and apparatus for removing low micron solids from a mixture of recovered oil based drilling fluid and low micron solids and diluent. A gas tight clarifier device that is designed and constructed for this purpose in a gas-tight manor so to ensure vapour cannot escape the separation process, and foreign oxygen cannot enter the process under normal operating conditions.

The system for a continuous dewatering recirculating for removing particulate such as coal combustion residue from a water stream. The system includes multiple dewatering and recirculation containers, each having a submerged flight conveyor and lamella settlings plate located therein, at least one dewatering and recirculation container receives ash water stream overflow.
