PARTICLE SEPARATING SYSTEM
A particle separating system for supplying a cam shaft phase adjuster with cleaned lubricating oil. The phase adjuster includes a stator, a rotor connectable to a cam shaft, and a control valve for hydraulically adjusting the rotational angular position of the rotor relative to the stator. The particle separating system includes an oil separator arranged in the flow of the lubricating oil, upstream of an oil gallery of an engine supplied with the lubricating oil, exhibiting a separation efficiency of at least 50% for particles having a size P1 and a separation efficiency of at least 90% at a size P2>P1; a particle separator arranged downstream of the oil separator and upstream of the phase adjuster or control valve, to clean the lubricating oil for the phase adjuster. The particle separator exhibits a separation efficiency of 50% at a size P3, where P1<P3<100 m.
PARTICLE SEPARATOR
A particle separator for the separation of solid particles out of a flowing fluid, the input mass flow, which is characterized in that a particle chamber for concentrating the solid particles to be separated is disposed in the flow path of the input mass flow and that at least one region of the wall of the particle chamber is implemented as a filter element through which a primary mass flow of the fluid can flow and that, additionally, at least one bypass opening is disposed in the wall of the particle chamber for the through-flow of the fluid with a secondary mass flow at higher filtration resistance.
DOWN-HOLE GAS SEPARATION SYSTEM
An apparatus for gas and solids separation from down-hole fluids having an inner tube and an outer tube disposed about the inner tube. The annular region between the tubes contain a plurality of chambers, separated by fluid barriers. The chambers include an intake chamber to receive fluids from outside of the outer tube through an orifice, and processing chambers. Fluid communication between the intake and processing chambers is restricted to fluid flow through sets of tubes. Fluid communication between a lowermost processing chamber below the intake chamber and a lower processing chamber above the intake chamber is restricted to fluid flow through the inner tube. A block restricts fluid communication within the inner tube to other chambers above the intake chamber. Orifices in the inner tube of the processing chambers on either side of the block provide fluid communication across the block.
Device and method for dynamic processing in water purification
A transformational approach to water treatment is provided that incorporates membrane-free filtration with dynamic processing of the fluid to significantly reduce treatment times, chemical cost, land use, and operational overhead. This approach provides hybrid capabilities of filtration, together with chemical treatment, as the water is transported through various spiral stages.

The rotor comprises a plurality of spaced apart conical elements. The fluid is smoothly directed to any number of subsequent boundary layer pumping stages which are axially positioned with respect to each other. The fluid is smoothly directed to any number of subsequent boundary layer pumping stages which are axially positioned with respect to each other. A coupling between pumping stages is disclosed.
PARTICLE SEPARATING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF SEPARATING PARTICLES USING THE SAME
A particle separating apparatus and a method of separating particles using the same are provided. The particle separating apparatus comprises a base part, a micro channel disposed in the base part, an inlet portion disposed at an end portion of the micro channel, wherein light-emitting elements, Newtonian fluid and viscoelastic fluid are injected into the inlet portion, an inlet flow path connecting the inlet portion and the micro channel, an outlet portion disposed at an opposite end portion of the micro channel, wherein the light-emitting elements, the Newtonian fluid and the viscoelastic fluid are discharged from the outlet portion, an outlet flow path connecting the micro channel and the outlet portion, and a vortex generator disposed under the inlet portion to generate a surface acoustic wave.
Systems and methods for particle focusing in microchannels
Various systems, methods, and devices are provided for focusing particles suspended within a moving fluid into one or more localized stream lines. The system can include a substrate and at least one channel provided on the substrate having an inlet and an outlet. The system can further include a fluid moving along the channel in a laminar flow having suspended particles and a pumping element driving the laminar flow of the fluid. The fluid, the channel, and the pumping element can be configured to cause inertial forces to act on the particles and to focus the particles into one or more stream lines.
