Modular filter assembly
A fluid filter assembly that is defined by a head portion, a base portion, and a filter tube housing that is captured therebetween. Each head portion includes more than one fluid inlet and more than one fluid outlet that are oriented relative to the respective head portion such that a plurality of fluid filter assemblies can be fluidly connected to one another to provide a desired degree of filtration of the fluid passed therethrough and such that the fluid filter assemblies can be oriented in a plurality of orientations relative to one another to provide a desired configuration of the fluid filter assembly.
Paving element having drainage channels and pavement system incorporating same
A paving element includes upper and lower surfaces and one or more drainage channels extending through the paving element between the upper and lower surfaces. The drainage channels include a substantially concave or cupule shaped upper portion, provided on the upper surface of the paving element, and a channel from the concave portion through to the lower surface of the bottom surface of the paving element. The drainage channels can be complete, when provided in the interior of the paving element, or partial, when provided along the sides or perimeter of the paving element. The partial channels are completed when the paving element is placed adjacent another paving element when forming a pavement. The drainage channels are adapted to facilitate the cleaning process of the channels.

SIPHON TYPE COMPOSITE VERTICAL SUBSURFACE FLOW CONSTRUCTED WETLAND
A siphon type composite vertical subsurface flow constructed wetland has an uplink pool with a depth 3/4 that of a downlink pool. Siphon-type drain tubes are equidistantly distributed at a first outer side of the uplink pool, and a total flow of the drain tubes is slightly greater than a largest total influent flow. Three layers of substrates are paved on each pool. A substrate on a first layer is a biological ceramsite having a relatively small grain size, another substrate on a second layer is zeolite having a relatively large grain size, and a further substrate on a third layer is cobblestone having a large grain size. The third layers of the pools are integrally communicated, and sewage in the downlink pool flows to the uplink pool through a communication port. Sludge on bottom layers of the pools is discharged from a siphon tube with water.
Filter with exterior and interior media components and method of filtering
The invention features a filtration segment having a top seal, a bottom seal and a primary filter core and the method of filtering with the design of the filtration segment. The primary filter core is operatively coupled to at least one opening which is located either on the top seal or on the bottom seal. The filtration segment also includes one or more interior filters surrounding the primary filter core. Each interior filter includes a filter material surrounding a secondary core which is operatively coupled to at least one opening which is located either on the top seal or on the bottom seal. Each filter may optionally include a retaining medium enclosing the filter material. The filtration segment has one or more layers of an exterior filter media which operatively surround the interior filters and are operatively coupled to the top seal and the bottom seal.

Synthetic compressible medium filter backwash processes
The invention is directed to methods of providing backwash processes for a synthetic compressible medium filter system. More specifically, the system may include a backwash pump and air blower, and the processes may include at least three sequences of: air and water wash; air purge; and medium compression. The backwash process may be triggered by one or more of a pressure, time point, and/or turbidity set point. The air and water wash sequence may include breaking and washing the medium. The air purge sequence may include removing substantially all of the air entrapped in the medium by providing a backwash water flow for a period of time; and a medium compression sequence compressing the medium while avoiding exposing the medium to air, including introducing raw water and where the backwash and raw water provide enough energy to compress the medium without introduction of air into the medium.

PROCESS FOR TREATING A FLUID
A water treatment process that includes associating the water treatment process with an offshore operation; receiving a treated water stream comprising floc into a flotation vessel. The process further includes injecting an injection stream into the flotation vessel to interact with the treated water stream and removing floc from the treated water stream to form a secondary treated water stream.
