A filter cartridge including a filter cover and the depth filter arranged inside the filter cover is also described.

RESTRICTION INDICATOR DEVICE FOR FILTER ASSEMBLY

A filter element comprises a filter media and a restriction indicator device. The restriction indicator device comprises an attachment portion and a movable portion. The attachment portion is attachable to a portion of the filter assembly. The movable portion is movable relative to the attachment portion between a non-buckled position and a buckled position. The movable portion moves from the non-buckled position to the buckled position once a predetermined pressure drop between an upstream side and a downstream side of the movable portion of the restriction indicator device is met.

A temporary plug apparatus for use to seal a port in an upper manifold or lower manifold corresponding to a damaged filter grid in a pool filter system is provided. The plug apparatus includes a main body having a central body, an upper tubular member designed to insert into one of a plurality of ports in the upper manifold and a lower tubular member designed to insert into one of a plurality of ports in the lower manifold, and an elastic band coupled to the main body and designed to wrap around the upper manifold or lower manifold of the pool filter system to ensure the upper tubular member or lower tubular member of the main body is secured to the one of the plurality of ports in the upper or lower manifold.

FILTER LEAK PATH PREVENTION VIA INTERFERENCE PIN

A replacement filter element having a removable pin attached to the filter element is described. The removable pin is attached to the filter element via a first interference fit. When the replacement filter element is installed into a filtration system having a drain valve with an internal draft, the removable pin seals onto the drain valve and forms a second interference fit between the drain valve and the pin. The pin seals an opening in the drain valve. The second interference fit is stronger than the first interference. Accordingly, when the replacement filter element is removed from the filter housing (e.g., during a service event of the replacement filter element), the pin detaches from the replacement filter element and remains positioned within the drain valve thereby preventing fluid from leaking from the housing when the filter element is removed. The pin permanently plugs the drain valve once installed.

End cap for filter element

An end cap for a filter element may include an element receiver configured to be coupled to a tubular member, and a base passage receiver in flow communication with the element receiver. The end cap may further include an end cap barrier extending outward from the base passage receiver, the end cap barrier including a first side configured to face a filter base. The end cap may also include end cap flow passages configured to provide flow communication between filter media and a filter base, and including a passage opening spaced a first distance from the first side. The end cap may further include a barrier edge and a peripheral seal, wherein an uppermost surface of the peripheral seal terminates a second distance from the first side of the end cap barrier, wherein the first distance is greater than the second distance.

Filter apparatus

An apparatus for filtering a suspension has a housing with an inlet receiving the suspension to be filtered, an outlet for the clear filtered filtrate, and a drain for removal of filter cake. The housing has a cylindrical part centered on an axis. An output ring pipe is connected to the outlet and externally surrounds the cylindrical part. A plurality of segmental filter holders are fittable into the cylindrical part from above and together form a circular insert with each holder forming an inlet chamber having an outflow fitting connectable to the annular output pipe. Respective sets of filter elements each formed by a respective strip-shaped support and a mesh filter sock surrounding the support are carried on the holder and open into the respective inlet chambers. A removable cover upwardly closes the cylindrical part above the inserts.

In one aspect, a modular filter assembly for filtering fluid that flows in a flow direction therethrough is disclosed. The assembly includes a first housing section having a first filter element; a second housing section having a second filter element; and a connector disposed between the first and second housing sections. A housing includes the first housing section, the connector, and the second housing section. The flow direction is through the first and second filter elements in series.

Particle separation system and method

A particle separation system may comprise a vessel having at least one side wall and a bottom wall forming an internal chamber within the vessel, a filtration unit positioned within the vessel and including a first filtration pack including a first plurality of filter elements, an inlet for moving pre-separated fluid into the vessel, and an outlet in fluid communication with the filtration pack for moving processed fluid out of the vessel, a rate of pre-separated fluid flow into the vessel and a rate of processed fluid flow out of the vessel each being between about 10 and about 1000 gallons per minute (GPM) and a flux within the filtration unit is less than or equal to about 0.05 gallons per minute per square foot (GPM/ft.sup.2).
