A portable water-purifying pouch is provided that includes a pouch-shaped body comprising an inlet part, through which water to be treated is introduced, and an outlet part, from which drinking water obtained by filtering the water being treated is discharged and a pouch-shaped filter medium, which is provided inside the body so as to hold and filter the water being treated, which has been introduced into the body, and comprises a fiber web layer having the structure of a three-dimensional network formed of nanofibers. The portable water-purifying pouch allows a large flow rate of drinking water to be obtained in a short time while filtering, with significantly superior efficiency, foreign substances such as bacteria and harmful germs in the water being treated merely by self-weight or by lightly applying pressure with a hand to the water being treated.

A variable configuration modular fluid filter assembly includes one or more discrete filter housing assemblies that each include a mount body constructed to support a cap and a filter sleeve. A plurality of bosses are formed on radially outward facing sides of the mount body and are each discretely selectable to fluidly connect the discrete mount body to one another to provide a desired flow characteristic of the discrete filter assembly arrangement. Preferably, each discrete filter assembly includes a seal arrangement disposed between the cap and the mount body and which orients the sealing interface therebetween at an acute angle relative to an axis of rotation of the cap relative to the mount body when the cap and mount body are engaged with one another.

A variable configuration modular fluid filter assembly includes one or more discrete filter housing assemblies that each include a mount body constructed to support a cap and a filter sleeve. A filter cartridge includes a threaded sleeve having a seal holder recess and seal member. The filter cartridge is for removably threading onto a filter head that includes threads for connection to the filter cartridge by way of the threaded sleeve. The filter head includes a ramp that engages the seal member to form a seal. The force needed to make the seal is a torque of less than 10 N-m.

A filter cartridge includes a threaded sleeve having a seal holder recess and seal member. The filter cartridge is for removably threading onto a filter head that includes threads for connection to the filter cartridge by way of the threaded sleeve. The filter head includes a ramp that engages the seal member to form a seal. The force needed to make the seal is a torque of less than 10 N-m.

A disposable oil filter containment sheath is provided for use during oil changes for combustion engines. The sheath has a closed bottom, a cylindrical sidewall, and an open top. The resilient sheath is rolled to an initial collapsed position for placement on the bottom of an oil filter mounted on the engine, and it is partially unrolled along the filter. The filter can then be loosened to allow oil to drain into the sheath for capturing a reservoir. After the filter is removed from the engine, the sheath is completely unrolled and tied at the top so as to fully enclose and contain the oil filter and oil. The sheath and its contents are then ready for disposal.

A fuel filter device includes a filter cloth and a skeletal structural member including an inner flange portion positioned inside the filter cloth and a connecting member including an outer flange portion positioned outside the filter cloth, wherein a peripheral edge portion of an opening of the filter cloth is clamped between the inner flange portion and the outer flange portion, the inner flange portion and the outer flange portion jointly defining a center hole and a center bore serving as a communication passage communicating inside of the filter cloth with outside of the filter cloth, and the inner flange portion is provided with a sealing rib to compress the filter cloth to ensure a sealing performance thereof, a welding rib to join the skeletal structural member and the connecting member with each other by welding, and a shifting preventing rib configured to restrict shifting of the filter cloth.

A fuel filter device includes a filter cloth and a skeletal structural member including an inner flange portion positioned inside the filter cloth and a connecting member including an outer flange portion positioned outside the filter cloth, wherein a peripheral edge portion of an opening of the filter cloth is clamped between the inner flange portion and the outer flange portion, the inner flange portion and the outer flange portion jointly defining a center hole and a center bore serving as a communication passage communicating inside of the filter cloth with outside of the filter cloth, and the inner flange portion is provided with a sealing rib to compress the filter cloth to ensure a sealing performance thereof, a welding rib to join the skeletal structural member and the connecting member with each other by welding, and a shifting preventing rib configured to restrict shifting of the filter cloth.

A water treatment insert for a pool skimmer system includes a chemical treatment portion separated from a mechanical filtration portion. The treatment device includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper section can include a vertical wall or walls, which should be substantially watertight so that substantially all the water entering the pool skimmer flows through the upper portion, and then into the lower section. The entire device is preferably received in the filter basket receiving section of a conventional pool skimmer, in place of the conventional filter basket. One of the upper and lower sections provides mechanical filtration and the other chemical treatment, to enhance the water treatment function of the skimmer.
