Fluid dispenser having a one-way valve, pump, variable-volume storage chamber, and a needle penetrable and laser resealable portion
A dispenser for dispensing a fluid includes a rigid vial that has a main fluid chamber containing a fluid, and a pump assembly that is in fluid communication with the main fluid chamber and is configured to dispense a predetermined quantity of fluid from the main fluid chamber. A flexible bladder is provided which is located within the main fluid chamber and is configured to expand to fill the ullage created within the main fluid chamber during dispensing of fluid by the pump assembly. The resilient bladder tends to force itself outwardly toward the rigid vial and, in turn, increases the pressure within the main fluid chamber in comparison to the interior of the bladder to thereby prevent the ingress of air or vapors through the bladder or otherwise into the main fluid chamber.
Capsular membrane treatments to increase accommodative amplitude
This apparatus treats the lens capsule so as to increase accommodation of the eye. The treatment of the lens capsule may comprise treating a portion of the lens capsule so as to stiffen the treated portion and improve accommodation of the eye. The intermediate portion of the lens capsule may be located between an optically used central portion of the lens capsule and a peripheral portion of the lens capsule connected to zonules of the eye. The stiffened intermediate portion of the lens capsule can improve coupling of the peripheral portion of the lens capsule to the central portion of the lens capsule, such that an amount of accommodation of the optically used central portion of the lens is increased. As the force of the lens capsule to a lens disposed within the lens capsule is increased, the lens may comprise the natural lens of the eye or an artificial lens such as an accommodative IOL. The treatment of the eye to stiffen the intermediate portion may comprise application of one or more of an energy or a substance to the intermediate portion.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR PRESERVING PHOTORECEPTOR AND RETINAL PIGMENT EPITHELIAL CELLS
Provided are methods and compositions for maintaining the viability of photoreceptor cells and/or retinal pigment epithelial cells in a subject with an ocular disorder including, for example, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) (e.g., dry or neovascular AMD), retinitis pigmentosa (RP), or a retinal detachment. The viability of the photoreceptor cells and/or the retinal pigment epithelial cells can be preserved by administering a necrosis inhibitor either alone or in combination with an apoptosis inhibitor to a subject having an eye with the ocular condition. The compositions, when administered, maintain the viability of the cells, thereby minimizing the loss of vision or visual function associated with the ocular disorder.
Device for packaging and dispensing a product, with vial and dispensing mouthpiece equipped with a filter
The device (100) for packaging and dispensing a product, liquid or in gel form, optionally for an ophthalmic application, comprises a container (1) containing the product to be dispensed by a dispensing head (7), as well as a refilling and filtering assembly for the air entering the container (1) after a dispensing, the dispensing head delimiting one or more dosing chambers (5) and including at its end a flexible part (7) which can be actuated to allow the release of the dose of product in a compressed state of said chamber (5). The air refilling and filtering assembly has a sterilizing filter (11) which cooperates with a check valve (12), this assembly (11, 12) being typically located in a central or inner portion of the head (7). The supply of outside air is accomplished by means of a channel (16) leading to an outer orifice (10) able to be obturated by a cover (15).
Eye drop guide device for instilling eye drops
An eye drop guide for instilling eye drops to an eye includes an eye cup housing and an eye drop dispenser holder. The eye cup housing includes an eye cup at a first end of the eye cup housing configured to be placed over an eye, a hole through the eye cup housing at a second end of the eye cup housing, and a magnet fixed to the eye cup housing at the second end. The eye drop dispenser holder may include a magnet fixed to the eye drop dispenser holder. The magnet in the eye cup housing and the magnet in the eye drop dispenser holder are configured to be attracted to one another so as to removably attach the eye cup housing to the eye drop dispenser holder.
Dispenser for liquids
A dispenser for discharging a pharmaceutical or cosmetic medium having a discharge head with a discharge opening, a container for storing the medium prior to discharge, an elastically deformable outer container, and a dimensionally flexible inner container arranged in an interior of the outer container. A ventilation channel is provided, through which the interior of the outer container is connected to an environment for pressure compensation by compensating air. The ventilation channel is delimited in at least some regions by a self-adhesive label, or the ventilation channel has a self-adhesive label and has a gas-permeable surface portion. The gas-permeable surface portion is arranged in the ventilation channel or on one of the ends of the ventilation channel, such that the air passing through the ventilation channel also passes through the gas-permeable surface portion.
OCULAR THERAPEUTICS TOOL
An ocular therapeutics tool including a stabilizer including a hollow body and a base connected to the body, the hollow body extending from the base, and the base being adapted to fit the eye surface, and an injection guide connectable to the stabilizer and adapted to receive an injection needle, wherein the injection guide includes at least one stopper adapted to define the injection depth of a needle inserted into the injection guide. The present application also provides an injection guide. The present application also provides a kit with the tool or the injection guide.
TREATMENT OF ALLERGIC EYE CONDITIONS WITH CYCLODEXTRINS
The present disclosure provides methods of treating eye allergies and allergic conjunctivitis with cyclodextrin. Ophthalmic compositions of cyclodextrin for topical administration are also provided.
