COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCING VISUAL FUNCTION
The present disclosure provides a conjugate comprising an affinity agent, a branched linker, and two or more photoisomerizable regulators. The present disclosure provides compositions comprising the conjugate, as well as devices comprising the compositions. The present disclosure provides methods for enhancing visual function, the methods comprising administering the conjugate to an individual in need thereof.
NEEDLE INSERTION DEVICE FOR THE ELECTROPORATION OF A PRODUCT INTO AN EYE
A device including a support (4) comprising a support base defining a spherical base contact surface, extending along a virtual sphere (S) and a circular rim extending in a rim plane; a first and a second needle mobile on the support between extracted and inserted positions in which the first and second needles are outside and maximally inserted in said virtual sphere, respectively, via first and second intermediate piercing positions in which, respectively, the first and second needles extend along first and second insertion axis and their tips are located on first and second insertion points belonging respectively to first and second hemispheres of the virtual sphere separated by a “median radial plane of the rim”, an angle (θ) between the median radial plane and any insertion axis being between 70° and 110°.
DEVICE SUITABLE FOR DISPENSING LIQUID SUBSTANCES
A device suitable for dispensing a liquid substance, such as an ophthalmological substance, including a container; a dispenser for dispensing the substance and which includes a piston element, loaded by the pressure of the pressurized substance so as to adopt a standby position by default that prevents the preloading chamber from being flooded by a dose of the substance; and a valve element capable of enabling a connection between the preloading chamber and the outside. The device has an actuation mechanism that sequentially compresses a volume of air used for moving the piston element from the standby position thereof, allowing a dose of the substance to flood the preloading chamber to subsequently mechanically actuate the valve element and simultaneously enable the connection to the outside of the preloading chamber as well as of the volume of air previously used for moving the piston element from the standby position thereof.
ADMINISTRATION DEVICE FOR ADMINISTRATION OF A FLUID
An administration device for in particular intravitreal administration of a fluid, the administration device having a preferably pre-filled syringe and an actuation mechanism for actuating the syringe. The administration device preferably includes a priming device, in particular in addition to the actuation mechanism. It is preferably prevented that the priming device be advanced beyond a defined end position. The syringe can preferably be moved within a housing of the administration device and/or positioned completely inside the housing.
DISPENSER FOR DISCHARGING PHARMACEUTICAL LIQUIDS
A dispenser for discharging pharmaceutical liquids in the form of individual drops, having a liquid store, a pump device with a pump chamber with a variable volume, and a dispensing opening. The dispenser additionally has a membrane part which delimits the pump chamber on one side and which changes the volume of the pump chamber by moving and/or deforming. The dispenser has a housing, within which the pump device is provided, and an actuation button movable relative to the housing between a non-actuated starting position and an actuated end position to move or deform the membrane part and to decrease the size of the pump chamber to discharge the liquid. The membrane part.is secured to the housing and to the actuation button. The pump chamber achieves a high degree of compression and a toggle switch is used as the actuation button.
TREATMENTS FOR EYE INFECTION
An example antimicrobial treatment system includes an illumination system configured to deliver illumination that activates a photosensitizing agent applied to a cornea. The system also includes a controller configured to control the illumination system. The controller detects an ulcerative region on a cornea and causes the illumination system to deliver the illumination to activate the photosensitizing agent applied to the ulcerative region according to a set of parameters for treating the ulcerative region. The illumination is restricted to the ulcerative region, and activation of the photosensitizing agent in the ulcerative region generates an antimicrobial effect.
Hydrodynamically Actuated Preservative Free Dispensing System
Multi-dose preservative-free ocular fluid delivery devices are provided. The fluid delivery device includes a fluid dispensing system and a fluid package for storing a liquid therein and supplying said liquid to the dispensing system. The dispensing system comprises an elongated chamber which includes a check valve which defines a frontal closure to the chamber. The valve is normally closed and hermetically seals the chamber. The dispenser includes a vibration motor that induces oscillations to the chamber and to the fluid within. The oscillations of the chamber impart momentum to the fluid stored in the chamber which in turn imparts force that cyclically opens the valve to dispense streams or liquid droplets. Fluid is dispensed only when the motor oscillates while otherwise the valve is hermetically closed. Preferably, the fluid package and check valve are included in a disposable reservoir assembly.
Ophthalmic device
An ophthalmic device including a cannula having a cannula distal end, a lumen, and one or more orifices coupled to the lumen is provided. The cannula is configured to deliver a fluid. A sleeve is disposed around the cannula and has a sleeve distal end. A handle is coupled to the sleeve and the cannula, the handle having an actuator. An internal mechanism is coupled to the actuator and configured to retract the sleeve relative to the cannula. The internal mechanism includes a follower fixedly coupled to the sleeve and moveable between distal and proximal positions, and a release member movable between an activated position and a release position. The release member is coupled to the actuator and configured to release a force that urges the follower from the distal position to the proximal position when the release member moves from the activated position to the release position.
METHOD AND APPARATUS TO MODIFY THE CORNEA USING ELECTROCHEMISTRY
A method of altering corneal tissue includes creating an electrochemical reaction in the tissue, wherein the electrochemical reaction occurs in the presence of an electrolytic solution in or on the tissue.
Semifluorinated compounds and their compositions
The present invention is directed to compositions comprising semifluorinated compounds and their use as medicaments for topical administration to the eye.
