A liquid extraction assembly for extracting liquid from a mass including a housing having an inlet, an outlet, and a path between the inlet and the outlet. The housing has the mass forced into the inlet to move the mass from the inlet to the outlet. The housing includes a rotating screen adjacent the path, with the rotating screen defining one wall of the path. The rotating screen includes a plurality of openings located at the path. Pressure from mass forced into the inlet presses the mass against the openings of the rotating screen to thereby force at least a portion of liquid in the mass to pass through the openings of the rotating screen. The housing has at least one stirring arm extending into the path between the inlet and the outlet, the at least one stirring arm stirring the mass in the path.

A solids separator for use in a composting system for separating solid waste from liquid waste in a stream of waste includes a housing defining a waste inlet for receiving the stream of waste, a liquids outlet for passing the liquid waste, and a solids outlet for passing the solid waste. A separator belt is positioned within the housing and extending between the liquids outlet and the solids outlet, the separator belt defining a plurality of apertures through which the liquid waste passes through the separator belt and into the liquids outlet. A drive cylinder is rotatably mounted within the housing for selectively rotating the separator belt such that a top surface of the belt is moved toward the solids outlet along with the solid waste that is extracted from the stream of waste.

A filter unit, or more specifically, a filter box for a chip conveyor for conveying cutting chips that are produced in the operation of a machine tool, such as a lathe or the like. More specifically, the exemplary filter unit has at least one internally located brush that is used for removing different types of chips contained in a coolant fluid and/or cutting oil used in machine tools during metal working through mechanical brushing and jolting the surface of the filtration element(s) of the filter unit. A chip conveyor and a method of filtering cutting fluid in a filtering chip conveyor is also disclosed.

A double-action pusher centrifuge separates a mixture into solid cake and liquid. The pusher centrifuge includes a screen drum rotatable about an axis and in which a pusher base device is arranged to be movable along the axis of rotation. The solid cake is displaced by an outer ring region of the pusher base device. A plurality of axial passage openings are disposed in the outer ring region and connect front and rear regions of the screen drum. A feed unit is arranged at an inflow disk such that the mixture can be introduced via the feed unit and the inflow disk into empty space on the screen drum on displacement of the solid cake. An inflow gap applies the mixture into the empty space, and is between an inflow edge of the inflow disk and a pusher base plate of the pusher base device with an inflow region.

A double-action pusher centrifuge separates a mixture into solid cake and liquid. The pusher centrifuge includes a screen drum rotatable about an axis and in which a pusher base device is arranged to be movable along the axis of rotation. The solid cake is displaced by an outer ring region of the pusher base device. A plurality of axial passage openings are disposed in the outer ring region and connect front and rear regions of the screen drum. A feed unit is arranged at an inflow disk such that the mixture can be introduced via the feed unit and the inflow disk into empty space on the screen drum on displacement of the solid cake. An inflow gap applies the mixture into the empty space, and is between an inflow edge of the inflow disk and a pusher base plate of the pusher base device with an inflow region.

According to various aspects and embodiments, a system and method for two-stage filtration is provided. The system includes an inlet fluidly connectable with wastewater, a first stage filter assembly that is fluidly connectable with the inlet and has a rotary drum with a filter surface configured for radially inward fluid flow, a second stage filter assembly that is fluidly connectable with the first stage filter and has a plurality of filter discs configured for radially outward fluid flow, and an outlet fluidly connectable with filtrate generated by the second stage disc filter assembly.

A microplastic filter includes a housing including an inlet configured to receive water. The microplastic filter also includes a fine filter disposed to rotate within the housing and configured to filter residues from the water. The microplastic filter further includes an inside wiper disposed within the fine filter. The inside wiper includes a center post disposed along a rotational axis of the fine filter and a helical curved wall spirally extending between the center post and the fine filter, where the helical curved wall is configured to guide a portion of the water to backflow through the fine filter and force away at least some filtered residues from pores of the fine filter to prevent fouling or clogging of the fine filter. In addition, the microplastic filter includes an outside wiper spirally disposed around the fine filter and configured to dislodge other filtered residues from the fine filter as the fine filter rotates.

A sludge dewatering system includes: a concentration apparatus that concentrates sludge while conveying the sludge on a top surface of a filter body; and a dewatering apparatus that subjects the sludge discharged from the concentration apparatus to pressure dewatering. The concentration apparatus includes: a filtering unit that subjects the sludge, which has been added with a first chemical agent, to gravity filtration; a chemical feeder that adds a second chemical agent to the sludge conveyed in the filtering unit; and a moving mechanism that moves the sludge, which has been added with the second chemical agent, in a direction intersecting a conveyance direction of the filter body.

A pool cleaner that may include a drive mechanism for moving the pool cleaner; a housing that has a first fluid opening and a second fluid opening; a filtering unit that comprises a filter enclosure, a cleaning element and a filtering element; and a rotating mechanism that is configured to introduce a relative rotation between the cleaning element and the filtering element thereby causing the cleaning element to clean the filtering element.

In a water treatment system, which may be a wastewater treatment plant, a single-inlet drum screen is installed with its rotation axis perpendicular to the pattern of flow in a channel. Retrofitting of an existing screening system with a different form of screen, residing in an existing concrete channel is described.
