Adaptive optical filter
The invention relates to an optical filter comprising: at least one optically transparent liquid-crystal shutter, the shutter having a polarization voltage ULCD that marks a threshold between two polarization states, and being designed to switch between at least two opacities OP1 and OP2, OP2 being strictly higher than OP1, when it receives a voltage that is above or below, respectively, the polarization voltage ULCD; and an electronic system comprising: an electronic module for controlling the liquid-crystal shutter, designed to control the voltage applied to the liquid crystal shutter; a photosensitive sensor, designed to deliver, to the electronic control module, a continuous voltage Ucs that varies depending on the luminous intensity that it receives, the photosensitive sensor being the only power supply of the electronic control module and the liquid-crystal shutter, the optical filter being characterized in that, if the photosensitive sensor receives a luminous intensity below a dazzle threshold le, the liquid-crystal shutter has an opacity OP1, and in that the electronic control module is designed, when the photosensitive sensor receives a luminous intensity above the dazzle threshold le, to deliver, to the liquid-crystal shutter, a continuous voltage Ue that is strictly above the polarization voltage ULCD of the shutter, so that the latter switches from opacity OP1 to opacity OP2.
HEADWEAR WITH STORABLE ACCESSORY
Headwear includes a storage region formed in a headwear portion with the storage region having an opening. An accessory is configured to cover a portion of a wearer's face and includes first and second opposing ends. The first end of the accessory is manually removable from the storage region through the opening. A retainer is attached to the second end of the accessory for limiting movement of the accessory within the storage region. The retainer locks the second end of the accessory within the storage region.
SNOW GOGGLES ALLOWING DISASSEMBLY
Snow goggles allowing disassembly include a goggle frame, a lens set, a protective pad, and a strap, each rapidly detachable for replacement or cleaning. The goggle frame has a first coupling side with first and second engaging portions, a second coupling side with a third engaging portion, and a peripheral portion with two first fastening units. The lens set includes first and second lenses, a connecting member, and a lens mount with fourth and fifth engaging portions for engagement with the goggle frame. The protective pad has a pad mount with a sixth engaging portion for engagement with the goggle frame. The strap has two ends each with a second fastening unit for engagement with the corresponding first fastening unit.
Laser Protection Eyewear Lenses
A laser protection eyewear lens includes a lens substrate comprising an embedded wavelength filter having a first filter function, and a multi-layer dielectric filter applied to at least one of an inside and an outside surface of the lens substrate that comprises a second filter function having at least one center wavelength and bandwidth. The first filter function of the embedded wavelength filter and the second filter function of the multilayer dielectric filter produce a combined filter function that attenuates light reflecting off the multi-layer dielectric filter.
Goggle lens changing system
A goggle lens is configured for use with a goggle frame having a frame body and a pair of frame engagement members positioned at respective lateral end portions of the frame body. The goggle lens includes a lens rim, and a lens element that is transparent to allow a user to view through the lens element. A pair of lens engagement members are coupled to respective lateral end portions of the lens rim. The pair of lens engagement members are selectively engageable with respective ones of the pair of frame engagement members. The pair of lens engagement members include a locking lens engagement member comprising a first element coupled to the lens rim, and a second element moveably coupled to the first element for facilitating selective engagement and disengagement with the respective one of the pair of frame engagement members.
Apparatus for removably attaching outer lenses to goggles
An apparatus and method for removably attaching a lens to a pair of goggles. The lens has at its periphery a plurality of lens clips, and the goggles has on its frame a matching plurality of frame clips which are designed to attach to the lens clips. Attachment and unattachment may be achieved through actuation of a lens release mechanism. The apparatus allows for the rapid and easy replacement of lenses without necessitating a replacement of the remaining portion of the goggles, a feature which may allow a user to cost-effectively replace damaged or worn lenses, or to utilize a single pair of goggles in a multitude of activities or situations in which advantages may be conferred through or necessity may require the use of a type or style of lens having particular attributes.
Lanyard with integrated ear plugs and retractable sheath
A lanyard is provided. The lanyard may include a lanyard cord which is attached to a personal item such as safety glasses or an access card, an earplug cord which is attached to a first earplug and a second earplug, and a flexible retractable sheath. The lanyard cord and earplug cord may be disposed in the lumen of the retractable sheath and the retractable sheath is movable between a first position where it covers a first section of the lanyard cord and the earplug cord and a second position where it exposes the first section of the lanyard cord and the earplug cord.
PROTECTIVE HOOD
A head protection hood (1) being an integral part of protective clothing (8) for clean rooms, the said hood (1) presents: An external face (2) designed to be in contact with the surrounding environment, An internal face designed to be in contact with the user's head, A section for passing the head through (3), A facial opening (4) at user eye level, and A first and second means of connecting (5) safety glasses (L), the said connection means (5) being fastened to the hood (1) at either side of the facial opening (4).
The said hood includes, once in its package safety glasses (L) fastened to the hood (1) by at least one of the said first and second means of attachment.
GLASSES STRUCTURE
A glasses structure comprises a main body and a sub-frame assembled at the rear of a lens of the main body. The inner surface of a frame body of the sub-frame is attached with a pad, which pad is formed with an upper contact portion and a central contact portion corresponding to the upper edge and the central shape of the frame body. Two nose pieces are formed at the both sides of the central contact portion of the pad, and the upper contact portion of the pad are respectively contacted with the user's nose and forehead to avoid pain when the user wears the glasses. Furthermore, the colored and patterned frame body of the sub-frame is shown from the transparent lens of the main body, whereby the glasses with suitable color and pattern being chosen to dress with the user's clothes and style, increasing the user's fashion and beauty.
Power-saving method for defogging an eye-shield
Power saving method providing a burst of power for defogging an eye-shield apparatus with a thin-film heater, comprising: activating the heater from an off power level to an on-demand mode or from a preliminary intermediate power level during an active-on mode to a max power level and continuing heating for a predetermined first period of time, automatically reducing power after the first period of time and sustaining the lesser power for a second predetermined period of time, after which program control automatically turns off the heater, or automatically reduces the heat back to the preliminary intermediate power level depending upon the initial state of the heater upon activating the burst of power, whether on or off. The method may be repeated as often as necessary from off level in the on-demand mode, or from within a continuous active-on mode.
