The technology can include a device that includes a substrate coated in a polymer that is infused with a pathogen inactivating material. In various embodiments, at a given time, a portion of the pathogen inactivating material is exposed to the environment, and the device is configured to periodically or intermittently expose additional pathogen inactivating material to the environment. For example, the polymer can be ablative or sacrificial.

The nanometer composite nanofiber layer includes first, second, and third nano-powder composite nanofibers, which are uniformly mixed by means of an airflow or are sequentially laminated to form the nanometer composite nanofiber layer. The nanometer composite nanofiber layer formed through sequential lamination includes first, second, and third nanofiber layers. The first nanofiber layer includes multiple first nano-powder composite nanofibers. The second nanofiber layer is stacked on the first nanofiber layer and includes multiple second nano-powder composite nanofibers. The third nanofiber layer is stacked on the second nanofiber layer and includes multiple third nano-powder composite nanofibers. The composite nanofiber filtration layer is formed of multiple nanometer composite nanofiber layers, so that the high-adsorption-performance nanofiber air filter medium shows improved performance.

The pathogenicidal components coated on the outer surfaces of the first and second side deactivate the pathogens incident on the outer surface of the respective first and second sides.

Disclosed herein, among other things, is an improved filter media construction that comprises multiple layers for improved odor control that can be used for vacuum cleaner air filtration cartridge applications. The filter media comprises anti-microbial ePTFE HEPA filter media to prevent mold growth. The filter media may also be used for air cleaner filtration, central air filtration for home and industrial buildings (HVAC), cleanrooms, and microelectronic devices. In an embodiment, the improved filter media construction comprises at least a PTFE layer, a bi-component layer, and a base layer. In an embodiment the PTFE layer comprises ePTFE. In an embodiment, the bi-component layer comprises non-woven polyethylene/polyethylene terephthalate (PE/PET). In yet another embodiment, the base layer comprises activated carbon. A blower tray is slidably positioned in the canister and a blower is integrated therein to blow air when the blower is turned on. A light tray is slidably positioned in the canister and a light emitter is integrated therein to eliminate viruses and bacteria. An exhaust vent is pivotally integrated into the canister to direct the air that has been sanitized by the light emitter out of the exhaust vent.
