A vertically oriented dust collector configured to filter dry particulate matter from an air stream comprises a housing containing at least one cartridge. Each cartridge comprises a filter pan having an opening with a filter incorporated into the opening. The filter pan has at least one alignment opening. The housing further comprises at least one pair of rails oriented parallel to each other within the housing onto which each cartridge is mounted and at least one alignment block sized and shaped to correspond to the alignment opening of the filter pan. The alignment block is positioned such that when the cartridge is installed in the housing, the alignment opening of the filter pan aligns with the alignment block.

Before application of the filter layer, both sides of the porous substrate are imprinted with a pattern of spaced apart, parallel lines of conductive ink which penetrate over 50% of the substrate thickness so that the pattern on one side meets at intersections within the substrate with the pattern on the opposite side to provide a series of continuous, uninterrupted electrostatic discharge pathways running through the substrate to dissipate static electricity charges. The composite sheet material may be pleated and formed as a tube for making baghouse filter cartridges.

The filter filters fluid that passes from the inlet to the outlet. A threaded bolt having a spring is located in the cover and the spring makes electrical connection to the filter. A portion of the bolt extends through the cover to provide an electrical connection from the filter. A ground strap or other electrical connection is made to the portion of the bolt to ground the filter when it is located inside the enclosed volume.

V-Bank filter

The present disclosure is directed methods and apparatus of a V-Bank filtration system capable of maintaining desired air flow rates while effectively filtering the air. These methods and apparatus charge particles and then capture those particles in a filter medium. Once captured in the filter medium, micro-organisms are exposed to high energy electric fields that may degrade and ultimately destroy the captured micro-organisms. Electric fields generated within portions of the V-Bank filter apparatus may also be contained within the portions of the filter apparatus based on exterior parts of these portions being grounded at Earth ground potential. Magnetic fields (or electro-magnetic fields) associated with the generated electric fields may also be contained within the portions of the apparatus based on the exterior parts of these portions being grounded.
